4-Day Gombe-Chimpanzee Trekking

Kigoma to gombe national park

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred to Kibirizi Port, where you’ll board a boat to Gombe National Park.

After arriving in Gombe, you’ll have time to rest and enjoy lunch, followed by a briefing in preparation for your chimpanzee trekking adventure.
Later in the afternoon, around 5:00 PM, return to your lodge and relax as you take in the breathtaking sunset over Lake Tanganyika.
Dinner will be served between 7:00 and 7:30 PM, followed by an overnight stay in the heart of nature.

Start your morning with a hearty breakfast, then head out for an unforgettable chimpanzee tracking experience—you’ll spend one magical hour observing these incredible primates in their natural habitat.

Afterward, continue exploring Gombe with a guided walk through the park, visiting key spots such as the chimpanzee feeding station, the scenic Kakombe Waterfalls, the iconic Jane’s Peak, and areas rich with birds, monkeys, and native flora.

Return to your lodge for a refreshing shower or a swim in the lake, followed by a relaxing lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a vibrant performance of traditional music and dance until around 4:00 PM.

As the evening sets in, gather for dinner, unwind by the beach bonfire, and then settle in for a peaceful night under the stars.

After breakfast, you'll head out for one last incredible chimpanzee tracking session, spending an hour with these remarkable primates in the wild.

Return to the lodge for lunch, then depart Gombe National Park by boat and continue your journey to Sunset Vista Hotel or Kigoma Hilltop Hotel.

In the afternoon, around 4:00 PM, visit the historic Dr. Livingstone Memorial Museum in Ujiji, where the famous meeting between Dr. Livingstone and Henry Morton Stanley took place.

Afterward, enjoy a relaxed city walk through Kigoma, visiting the local market to see how the community lives, works, and trades.
