Kigoma to Gombe National Park

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred to Kibirizi Port, where you will board a boat to Gombe National Park.

After arriving in Gombe, you will have time to settle in and enjoy lunch, followed by a briefing to prepare for your upcoming chimpanzee trekking adventure. Later in the afternoon, around 5:00pm, return to your lodge and unwind while enjoying the stunning sunset over Lake Tanganyika.

Dinner will be served between 7:00pm and 7:30pm, followed by an overnight stay surrounded by the serene beauty of nature.

Chimpanzee Trekking

Start your morning with a hearty breakfast, then set out for an unforgettable chimpanzee tracking experience. You will spend one magical hour observing these remarkable primates in their natural forest habitat.

After the trek, continue exploring Gombe on a guided walk through the park, visiting highlights such as the chimpanzee feeding station, the scenic Kakombe Waterfalls, the iconic Jane's Peak, and forest trails rich with birdlife, monkeys and native flora.

Return to your lodge for a refreshing shower or a swim in Lake Tanganyika, followed by a relaxing lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a lively performance of traditional music and dance, which concludes around 4:00pm.

As the evening sets in, gather for dinner, unwind by a beach bonfire, and end your day with a peaceful overnight stay under the stars.

Explore Amazing Gombe National Park

After breakfast, you will head out for one final chimpanzee tracking session, spending an unforgettable hour with these remarkable primates in their natural habitat.

Return to the lodge for lunch, then depart Gombe National Park by boat and continue your journey to either Sunset Vista Hotel or Kigoma Hilltop Hotel.

Later in the afternoon, around 4:00pm, visit the historic Dr. Livingstone Memorial Museum in Ujiji—the site of the famous meeting between Dr. David Livingstone and Henry Morton Stanley.

After the museum visit, enjoy a relaxed city walk through Kigoma, including a stop at the local market to experience how the community lives, works and trades.
