Day 1

Nairobi - Samburu National Reserve

We pick you up from your hotel at 7:30 am and leave for Samburu. You will drive through Nanyuki where the second phase of the equator passes. Proceed to Mount Kenya for some views of the glistening mountain and the fresh breeze. You will have lunch at a midrange hotel at the foot of Mount Kenya. Leave for Samburu and arrive for check-in at your camp and a cup of coffee and brief refreshments.

You will have an afternoon game drive and then return for dinner and overnight at Sarova Shaba Game Lodge.

Day 2

Samburu Game Reserve

After breakfast at 08h00, we leave the lodge with a packed lunch for a full-day game drive. Animals commonly seen are elephants, lions, cheetahs, Grevy’s zebras, reticulated giraffes, gerenuks, buffaloes, oryx, gazelles, dik-diks, and waterbucks. Samburu National Reserve has different animals compared to other national parks. The Ewaso Ngiro River passes through Samburu National Reserve, acting as a waterpoint for the animals. We return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Samburu Game Reserve - Lake Nakuru National Park

Samburu Game Reserve - Lake Nakuru National Park

After an early breakfast, we depart the lodge for a morning game drive and then leave for Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive at Lake Nakuru Lodge in time for lunch. You will have an evening game drive in Lake Nakuru. The lake is famous for flamingos as well as over 400 other species of birds. In addition, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game. We return for dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 4

Lake Nakuru National Park - Masai Mara National Reserve

Lake Nakuru National Park - Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, we leave Lake Nakuru National Park with an en-route game drive. We pass through Naivasha for an optional boat ride and then to Narok, a small Maasai town, for lunch. We proceed to Masai Mara and check in at the camp for brief refreshment. This is followed by an afternoon game drive in the game reserve which is Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary.

Over 450 species of animals, including migrants, have been recorded here. Although July, August, and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year-round. We have dinner and overnight at Enkorok Mara Camp.

Day 5

Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, a full day is spent viewing game across the rich, tree-studded grassland and rolling hills. The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plains game, black-maned lion, leopard, and cheetah, but also contains numerous elephant and virtually every other type of wildlife to be found in Kenya.

Lunch is served in the park at the Mara River, the border of Kenya and Tanzania, and the scene for the yearly wildebeest and zebra migration. Continue with your game drive covering the park into sections. We return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

There is an optional visit to a Maasai village from 17h00 to 18h30 (pay direct).

Day 6

Masai Mara National Reserve - Nairobi

We go on a pre-breakfast game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve. We return to the camp for a late breakfast before leaving. Your lunch will be served at a midrange hotel in Narok. We then drive through the Rift Valley for a stopover, arriving in Nairobi in the late evening. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.

There is an optional visit to the Carnivore Restaurant where game meat is served (pay the hotel directly).
