Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

This morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and depart from Nairobi at 8.30 am. We'll drive through the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and is home to the Big Five: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino. Have lunch at the lodge and relax before departing for the afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the greatest wildernesses in the world. Large mammals are varied and easy to see. The wild animals found in the park are Masai giraffe, buffalo, eland and thousands of plain game including impala, zebra and both Thomson’s and Grants gazelles. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the lodge.

Masai Mara National Reserve

Enjoy a full day spent viewing the great predators and exploring the park's amazingly high concentration of wild animals. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. During the stay, we will also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Maasai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the lodge.

Masai Mara to Nairobi

You'll have an early morning game drive at sunrise when predators are active with the morning hunt of big cats. We will have an opportunity to capture a lion making a kill as most of the time lion kills happen very early in the morning before sunrise. We will also experience the beauty of sunrise which reveals the backdrop of Masai Mara which means the dotted hills in Maa Language. Later, we'll return to the lodge for the main breakfast. After breakfast, we'll depart Masai Mara with the last picturesque of the Mara arriving in Nairobi late in the afternoon. You will be dropped off at either your hotel or airport to catch your home-bound journey depending on the arrangements. This is where the safari ends. Meal Plan: Breakfast.
