Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable national park
Have early breakfast and depart for Bwindi National Park at 7.00 am, driving southwards for at least 8 hours before arriving at your accommodation which is situated just outside of the park on the southern side. The most direct route from Kampala follows a surfaced road to Kabale via Mbarara and Ntungamo. A slow dirt road then winds through the highlands to Rushaga gorilla region via Rubanda.
The main trailhead at Rushaga is about 500kms from Kampala and can be reached by road from several directions. Along the way, you will encounter many things, including the equator, vast plantations, rolling hills and hospitable people going about their daily lives and several bustling towns.
You will have lunch enroute in Mbarara town at Igongo cultural hotel or Agip Motel. Relax in the evening whilst enjoying the magnificent vistas of the beautiful Rushaga landscape. Have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi forest and visit Batwa Villages
After an early breakfast and briefing by UWA ranger guide, you will enter the gorilla sanctuary for your safari highlight. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular! The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails offering Easy accessibility for the visitors.
Trekking time typically depend on the nature of terrain and daily movements of these giant apes. Once you locate a gorilla group, you will be given at least one hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle, giant primates is an awesome and exciting experience to be long savored.
Return to your lodge after this experience and later go for an afternoon community experience with legendary Batwa people; meet the old people who will tell you stories and the young ones will entertain you with their energetic traditional songs and dances.

Transfer back to Kampala & Stop over at the equator and departure through Entebbe
It is time to leave Bwindi Impenetrable NP and transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe. It is a long but quite an interesting drive back to the central region of Uganda, passing through many bustling towns and lively villages.
A stopover will be at the Uganda Equator monument in Mpigi district, where you have enough time to eat lunch and relax, take some photos and purchase African souvenirs. Upon arrival in Kampala, decide whether to continue to Entebbe airport for departing flight or overnight in a hotel, and that will mark the end of your 3 day gorilla trekking tour in Uganda.
