1-Day Trip to Mkomazi National Park

After an early breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel then drive to Mkomazi via Zange. A brief registration process is to be completed upon arrival at the gate. Guests may opt for a walking safari to start with, or directly proceed on a game drive. The spectacular views of Mt Usambara create a wonderful backdrop for the park. With some luck and clear skies, the majestic Mt Kilimanjaro can also be seen. Enjoy your lunch at the picnic spot overlooking a distant lake. Continue the drive through the park to reach the sanctuary by 3 pm. Guests are dropped off and walk to see the largest wild canine in Africa, known as the African wild dog, a descendant of the wolf. Guest can hop onto the 4x4 open L/Rover with the ranger, to be driven close to the watering hole where the rhinos meet at approx 4 pm. Enjoy the remarkable sights and movements of the rhinos, possibly just a metre or so away! Afterward, return to be dropped off at your hotel.
