Arusha to Tarangire National Park

You will be picked up at 7:30 am at the airport and meet our guide and chef. You will drive for 2 hours to Tarangire National Park, famous for its diverse landscape. The park is well known for the abundance of ancient baobab trees and its huge herds of elephants, hence providing unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. We will do a game drive through the park, depending on where there are reported sightings of animals.

Later, we will go to the Tarangire River picnic site and enjoy the beautiful view of the river and animals while having lunch. Small monkeys and baboons will try to scare you off your lunch, but there is no need to worry. After lunch, we will proceed with the game drive and exit the park at around 4:30 pm. We will head to our accommodation at Marera Lodge in Karatu.

The Serengeti National Park is very large - it covers 14,750 square kilometers (5,700 square miles). It is famous for the wildebeest and zebra migration (over 1.5 million wildebeest and 250,000 zebra). These animals have a strategic partnership for their survival. Our focus will be on the Seronera area (center of Serengeti). We arrive in the late afternoon and after taking our lunch, we do a game drive until late evening and experience the sunset in Serengeti. They are named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters. The Serengeti is believed to hold the largest population of lions in Africa, due in part to the abundance of prey species. More than 3,000 lions live in this ecosystem. The reclusive African leopard is commonly seen in the Seronera region, but is present throughout the national park with a population of around 1,000.
