The Ngorongoro caldera, with a diameter measuring up to 21 km, is not only populated by more than 360 bird species, but also up to 25,000 large mammals. Elephants hide in the thickets of the jungle on the crater walls, which can reach up to 600 m in height, while zebras, antelopes and buffaloes frolic in the unique landscape on the crater floor. The grasslands are crisscrossed by lakes, swamps, and forests – simply a paradise for wildlife. The Ngorongoro Crater is also the place you are most likely to see all the Big Five Elephant, black rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard. You will be particularly lucky if you discover one of the endangered black rhinos. Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

Today you will be in the Serengeti in search of wonderful animals. Your guide will use his trained eye to show you things that you wouldn't notice on your own. Of course, the elephant, lion, cheetah and the shy leopard are once more the focus of the search. Nevertheless, the pretty impala, the funny warthogs with their tails standing straight upright, hyenas, zebra- and buffalo herds and proud giraffes create beautiful photo opportunities, too. On the riverbanks you will find crocodiles and hippos. Rivers like the Grummet and the Mara River are big obstacles for the thousands of wildebeest and zebra during the animal migration, so dramatic scenes take place when they try to cross them. These are magical moments when columns of animals pass by and you feel the earth vibrating below their hooves.

However, not only the animals make charming photo opportunities, but also the different landscape forms. For example, the Seronera Plateau as the “heart of Serengeti”, which is dotted with Flat-topped Acacia trees. Have a look at the termite mounds, which are often used by cheetahs during migration as viewing points to spot the prey.
