Day 1
Mbudya Island is an uninhabited tropical island located about 5 km off the coast of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Part of the Dar es Salaam Marine Reserve, the island is known for its crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and vibrant marine life. Accessible by a 15–20 minute motorboat ride from the mainland, it is a popular escape for both tourists and locals seeking tranquility and natural beauty.
Visitors to Mbudya can enjoy snorkeling among colorful reefs, swimming in turquoise waters, or simply relaxing on the beach under thatched bandas. Fresh seafood—especially grilled fish and lobster—is also available from small local vendors. Because it’s a protected marine reserve, Mbudya offers a clean, well-preserved environment perfect for day trips and eco-tourism.
