Day 1

Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport - Tarangire

Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport - Tarangire

We will meet at the International Airport of Kilimanjaro with a signboard with your name and our company logo. After greetings, we will check all your luggage for confirmation and we will drive to Lake Burunge Tented Lodge. It is a charming lodge situated right on the shores of a lake. You will enjoy the casual atmosphere and roam around in the park-style garden. You will have lunch at the lodge's restaurant while watching the lakeshore, waiting for the animals that come to drink there.

After lunch, you will check in to your room, then return to the reception area for a safari briefing for the next day. Because the camp is strategically located in the natural corridor between Manyara and Tarangire, the spectacle of the migration is guaranteed. This camp is the perfect place to relax in comfort after a long journey or a day of game driving in Tarangire. You will simply be carried away by the breeze and the colors of the African sunset from your private terrace.

Tarangire National Park - Safari in the Park

Tarangire National Park - Safari in the Park

After breakfast, your tour starts with the drive to Tarangire, the third-largest national park in northern Tanzania and a sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs and up to six thousand elephants. We will depart with a lunch box from the lodge and enjoy our lunch at the nice picnic site with a lovely view of the Tarangire River. Later on, we drive to Lake Burunge Tented Lodge, situated outside the park with a fantastic view of Lake Burunge. Some animals pass close to the tents on their way from Tarangire to Manyara National Park. You will enjoy a complimentary sundowner with drinks like sodas, beers, house wines, house cocktails and snacks.

Tarangire National Park - Manyara National Park

After breakfast, we depart for Lake Manyara, a drive of approx 1.5 to 2 hrs. Nestling at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park is recognised for its incredible beauty. You can see many game animals such as buffalo, elephant, giraffe, impala, hippo and others. After spending most of the day in the car, you might enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Kirurumu River, which has to be crossed on large rocks a couple of times. This is a great chance to get out of your vehicle and explore this beautiful area on foot. Note that wet muddy feet can't entirely be avoided…! You will enjoy your picnic lunch at one of the nicest picnic sites in the park. After lunch, you will proceed with a game drive, then drive directly to Ngorongoro on the short journey, so you can go down to the crater floor early in the morning. Spend the evening at Eileen's Trees Inn, a rustic lodge on the outskirts of Karatu, with comfortable rooms in a large tropical garden around an inviting swimming pool.

Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you will drive to Ngorongoro and descend into the crater for a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2,000 ft. high walls, the Ngorongoro Crater has the highest wild animal density worldwide. Among the species are lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. You might expect to see the Big Five in one day. From Ngorongoro, you proceed to Lake Eyasi – home to the hunter-gatherers, an ethnic group of the Hadzabe Bushmen bearing similar characteristics to the Bushmen in Southern Africa. The small people of this indigenous tribe are probably the last living in true harmony with nature and have a wealth of flora and fauna knowledge to share with us. The next day is filled with tours and game walks guided by bushmen taking you on their traditional hunting tracks.
