This will be an unforgettable moment for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress well into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in the local language, "endless plains". The park has 6,900 sq. miles (18,000 sq. km) and for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon defying your senses and perception of distances. It is home to the Great Migration with its 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and all kinds of antelopes. As for big cats and large predators, it's the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas.

You will have lunch, then continue with a game drive at Serengeti. Later drive to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

On this day we suggest a very early wake up in order to do an early morning game drive when the animals are more active to see one of the best sunrises you'll ever witness. After the morning game drive, return to the camp for breakfast. Later continue with the game drive around central Serengeti.

Central Serengeti is also known for its large and small kopjes, which are home to the athletic yet lazy rock hyraxes, as well as to a mix of reptiles such as colorful agama lizards and snakes.

Besides that, the rocks are also the perfect resting place for lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Cats seem to prefer the kopjes as they serve as a good vantage point for potential prey but also offer much-needed shade during the scorching heat of the African sun and provide shelter for their young.

You will have your picnic lunch and proceed with the game drive. In the evening return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
