Your Gosheni driver-guide will collect you from your Arusha hotel and drive to Tarangire National Park. Begin game viewing among baobabs and woodland, looking for elephants, giraffes and the birds your guide helps you identify. Pause for a freshly prepared hot lunch with soup, bread rolls, a main course and fruit, followed by tea or coffee and a glass of wine. Continue exploring as time allows before settling into Serian Tarangire Camp for dinner and your first night on safari.

Day 2
Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After an early breakfast, leave Tarangire and travel to Ngorongoro for your crater game drive. The journey takes you into a different landscape, from the surrounding highlands down to the crater floor. Look for buffalo, zebra, hippos and predators while your guide explains the animals' behaviour. Stop for your hot lunch, then continue exploring within the permitted crater visiting hours. Later, ascend and continue to Naserian Safari Camp for dinner and your overnight stay. Black rhino sightings are possible but never guaranteed.

Day 3
Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, travel towards Central Serengeti. This is a transfer day with game viewing once you enter the park, rather than a full day spent in one game-drive area. Watch the landscape open into broad plains and look for wildlife along the route with your guide. Take a break for your hot lunch before continuing towards Seronera. Arrive at Olkarien Eco Safari Lodge for dinner and the first of two nights, giving you a settled base for the next day's exploration.

Day 4

Enjoy a full day of game drives in Central Serengeti without packing up and moving to a new lodge. Your guide will plan the route around recent sightings and your interests, looking for big cats, elephants and the smaller creatures that make the plains so interesting. Take time to watch a sighting unfold rather than simply moving on. A hot lunch provides a welcome break during the day. Return to Olkarien Eco Safari Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay. The migration moves seasonally, while resident wildlife offers interest throughout the year.

Day 5

Head out for a morning game drive in the Seronera area, making the most of your final hours in the Serengeti. Enjoy a hot lunch before beginning the road journey towards Karatu, with game viewing along the route where possible. This afternoon is mainly for travel, with time to watch the scenery change as you leave the plains behind. Settle into Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay before tomorrow's visit to Lake Manyara.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park for your final game drive. Explore woodland and lakeshore habitats with your guide, looking for baboons, elephants and birdlife. Tree-climbing lions are a possibility, rather than a promise. Stop for a hot lunch and continue game viewing as the schedule allows before driving back to Arusha. Your guide will drop you at the hotel you have arranged for the night. Share your favourite sightings on the way back as your six-day journey comes to a close.
