Day 2

After breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala, embark on the trip to Murchison Falls National Park in the north of Uganda, a journey of 311km about 5 hours’ drive. You traverse through the undulating hill slopes of Nakasongola before branching off at Nakitoma for 7 km to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary just 176km north of Kampala.
Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch is the proud home of the only wild rhinos in Uganda following their extinction and thus offers an unforgettable Rhino tracking experience. Ziwa is the only place where you will be able to see rhinos in the wild.
Presently the sanctuary is home to twenty-five (25) southern white rhinos. The sanctuary has become increasingly popular with tourists; for rhino trekking, bird watching, nature walks and relaxation.
After this experience, you will continue on the drive to Masindi town for lunch and later proceed to Uganda’s largest park -Murchison Falls National Park for relaxation. Check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

After an early morning cup of tea at the lodge, continue to the park for a morning game drive which tends to last 3 – 4 hours exploring the park’s attractive wilderness in its authenticity. The activity is carried out in the northern sector of the park which is a renowned hub where numerous counts of wildlife dwell including lions, Rothschild giraffes, leopards, elephants and Kobs among others. Return from the activity and head back to the lodge for relaxation and a sumptuous lunch after which you assemble at Paraa Jetty for a thrilling afternoon Nile launch cruise departing at 2pm heading for the bottom of the waterfalls.
The boat cruise avails you opportunities to encounter numerous birds, terrestrial and aquatic species such as the Nile Crocodiles, Hippos and elusive shoebill stork not forgetting other wild game that quench their thirst from the Nile waters during sunny afternoons.
Retire from this rather interesting 3-hour activity for relaxation, dinner at the hotel.

After breakfast and with lunch enroute, you will embark on a journey to Kibale National Park.
Kibale National Park; is a national park in Western Uganda, protecting moist evergreen rain forest. It is 766 square kilometers in size and is located between 1,100 meters to 1,600 meters in elevation; this forest is known for harboring primates e.g. the Chimpanzees & black and white colobus monkeys, numerous bird species and Forest elephants.
On arrival you will check into your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Following your breakfast at the lodge, you will embark on a historical wetland walk in the nearby Bigodi wetland. Bigodi wetland walk allows you to have an encounter with nature. The swamp has numerous populations of birds, a wide range of over 138 different species of birds including Great Blue Turaco and other swamp animals.
Retreat to the starting point for a short relaxation and enjoy your lunch.
After this, assemble at the park headquarters, Kanyanchu Tourism Center for briefing and later set off. The park staff will take you through this session and clarify on the chimpanzee trekking code of conduct and trekking instructions after which you proceed to the forest in search of our closest cousins.
The hike through the jungle with sights of birds, impressive flora and other primate species like Black and white Colobus monkeys and eventual encounter with the chimpanzees.
Retreat from this as activity and return to the lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight.

After the morning breakfast, you will check out from your hotel in fort portal and continue to Queen Elizabeth National park via Mpanga tea estate; where you will do a short cycling while conversing with the local estate workers; you may also participate in tea harvesting- a very wonderful experience. Queen Elizabeth National Park boasts having one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game park in the world.
Uganda’s second largest National Park, the 1,978 sq. km park has everything from open savannah to rain forests.
Queen Elizabeth Park has over 100 mammal species, and an astounding 606 bird species, making it a premier safari destination. After a splendid morning cup of coffee at your hotel, embark on the drive across the fascinating rolling savannah rangelands of Queen Elizabeth in search of wild game. The stretch to Kasenyi plain, offers lifetime opportunity to encounter numerous families of wild game in a single glance.
The game drive takes 3 – 4 hours and you retreat back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. After lunch, you continue to Mweya jetty to catch up with a boat trip at exactly 4pm. The 2-hour boat cruise offers a chance to explore the 45km long Kazinga Channel which links the twin lakes, George and Edward, the channel is known to be the capital of Hippos and Nile crocodiles.
Its banks are usually fully stocked with numerous wild game like elephants and buffaloes which can be seen along quenching their thirst from the Kazinga waters on a hot day. Retreat from the activity and do the game drive along the channel track as you proceed to the lodge.

After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi. Enroute Ishasha, in the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, the exit to the Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will do a game drive looking for the elusive tree climbing lions, the unique Species that are only found in this part of Uganda with another group known to be living in Lake Manyara National Park in the south of Tanzania.
However, low lying fig trees of Ishasha offers a closer contact with these unfamiliar species than any other part. Arrive in Bwindi later in the evening for a local community experience with the Batwa or just relax at the lodge.

Wake up for an impressive warm breakfast to shake off all the morning cold conditions experienced in this part of the country before assembling at the respective park headquarters at 8am for briefing and pre tracking rules and regulations about gorilla trekking.
Continue to the misty Bwindi forest in search of the world’s most sought after and endangered species, the mountain gorillas. The trekking adventure takes you through impressive hikes exploring the attractive forest landscapes characterized by rugged terrain which makes it quite challenging to explore.
Duration of the activity is between 2 – 8 hours inclusive of one (1) hour direct encounter with these elusive creatures. You have the freedom to shoot as many photos as you desire before you retreat from the activity to return to the starting point.
Have your packed lunch, and transfer to Bunyonyi, arriving in the evening to relax and view the stunning scenery of Kigezi region.

Have breakfast, and get on a canoe to explore the lake of 29 islands. The islands are habitats to many species including animals, and birds and also visit the local fishermen who have lived on this lake for many years.
After having your lunch, proceed on a transfer to check in at the border and enter into Rwanda, the Northern Province & Musanze in the famous Volcanoes National Park.
Relax at the lodge, have dinner and overnight.

In the morning, you will gather at the park headquarters for briefing. You set for golden monkey tracking. Trekking golden monkeys and gorillas is a similar experience – in a small group of not more than eight people, and visitors are allowed a maximum of one hour to spend with the monkeys once they find them.
These rare species are also listed as endangered – and Volcanoes national park currently has two habituated golden monkeys’ troops that are available for visiting by tourists in the park, both of which make about 80 members.
They are very active creatures that keep jumping from tree to tree which is really interesting, though a little difficult to photograph.
Return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. Dedicate your evening to visiting the Ibyiwachu Cultural Village to explore Rwanda’s cultural heritage and practices.

Having a well prepared breakfast at your place of residence, you will embark on the journey to Gisozi genocide memorial site to visit and pay tribute to the counts of Rwandan people who lost their dear lives during the unforgettable era of genocide that befell Rwanda in the year 1994.
The empty skulls are paraded in the building with the respective details, a sorrowful experience that may fill your eyes with tears while at the same time bringing fresh memories of what exactly transpired during that fateful era.
Depart in the evening via Kigali airport.
