SGR Train to Voi, Transfer to Salt Lick & Afternoon Game Drive

Begin your journey with the Madaraka Express SGR train from either Nairobi Terminus (Syokimau) or Mombasa Terminus to Voi.

From Nairobi, make your way to the Nairobi Terminus located in Syokimau, approximately 20 km (about 35–45 minutes) from Nairobi CBD. The Inter-County SGR train departs at 8:00 AM, arriving in Voi at 12:02 PM.

From Mombasa, proceed to the Mombasa Terminus in Miritini, approximately 15 km (about 30–40 minutes) from Mombasa CBD. The train departs at 8:00 AM, arriving in Voi at 9:49 AM.

Upon arrival in Voi, your driver-guide will be waiting to transfer you to Salt Lick Safari Lodge. After check-in and lunch, enjoy an exciting afternoon game drive in Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary. Look out for elephants, lions, buffaloes, and more in this stunning ecosystem.

Return for dinner and overnight at the iconic Salt Lick Safari Lodge, where wildlife viewing continues right from your stilted room overlooking the waterhole.

Final Safari Moments & SGR Train from Voi

Enjoy breakfast with views of wildlife at the lodge. Depending on your train schedule, you may take a short final game drive en route to Voi SGR Station. Board your return train to either Nairobi or Mombasa.
