You'll have an early morning pick-up from your hotel or airport by your driver/tour guide and then drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Across the equator, southwards of Bogoria, lies the Rift Valley's most famous Lake Nakuru. You will have a stopover to view the escarpments.
The park is known all over the world for its flamingos and its alkaline lake, and is recognized as being one of the Natural Wonders of the World. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harboring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingos, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times, there may be almost 2 million flamingos in residence, forming a stunningly beautiful, deep-pink band around the edge of the lakeshore. You will arrive in time for lunch, have some time to stretch, and then have an afternoon game drive.

Go on an early-morning game drive and return to the resort for breakfast. After breakfast, proceed for a full day in the park with a packed lunch in search of the park's popular residents. The Masai Mara plains are full of wildebeest during the migration season from early July to the end of September. Zebra, impala, topi, giraffe, and Thomson’s gazelle are regularly seen. You will also spot leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, and bat-eared foxes. Black rhinos are a little shy and hard to spot but are often seen at a distance if you are lucky. Hippos are abundant in the Mara River as are very large Nile crocodiles, who lay in wait for a meal as the wildebeest cross on their annual quest to find new pastures.
This game drive will go on until the evening when you return to the resort for a sundowner, refreshments, dinner, and overnight.
