Transfer and Kruger Park Safari

You will begin our tour with a shared shuttle transfer, departing OR Tambo Airport at 7:45. Crossing 3 provinces, you will make our way to the Northern Drakensberg Escarpment before arriving in Hoedspruit, the safari capital of central Kruger National Park. You will be met by your guide, and start your first afternoon safari to the first rest camp, where you will spend the night in an authentic, thatched Kruger Park Bungalow. Your guide will prepare dinner for you.

Olifants Boat Cruise, Afternoon Game Drive and Bush Braai

You will enjoy a full-day safari with a professional and experienced Khalanga Safaris nature guide. Our guide's knowledge of the African bush is amazing and you will enjoy many animal sightings even before breakfast, which is prepared by your guide en route at a picnic spot or at the rest camp. We will spend the entire day in search of the animals of Kruger National Park, before returning to the rest camp in the evening. Dinner is again prepared by your guide, lunch is available at one of the rest camp's restaurants where we will be making a stop around lunchtime.

Morning safari drive and boat cruise safari

We will spend a last day in Kruger National Park, and leave the park in the early afternoon, on time for our riverboat safari on Olifants River near Phalaborwa in a Big 5 Game Reserve. Observe the animals from the unique perspective of a boat while enjoying your sundowner drinks. The Olifants River originates in Mpumalanga Province and flows East through the Lowveld, before crossing into Mozambique and joining the Limpopo River, and entering the Indian Ocean near Maputo. You will spend the night at a private lodge by the riverside. You'll start your safari boat cruise which takes you all the way upriver with many animal sightings, while you enjoy your sundowner drinks on board. Birding is excellent, with the opportunity to see many rare species such as the white-backed night heron but also other animals on the riverbank, including the Big Five.

Return to OR Tambo

On your last day you will enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the lodge and a dip in the pool by the riverside, before we take you to the shuttle departure location. After your transfer, you will be back at OR Tambo Airport by 6 pm.
