Day 2
Murchison Falls National Park

Early morning, you will depart for Murchison Falls National Park. You will stop at ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for tracking the rhinos and also have lunch here before continuing. A short evening drive will be conducted upon arrival in Murchison Falls National Park.

The day will be spent on a game drive. You will leave early morning and go on a game drive from 8 am to 12noon, seeing several animals including lions and giraffes. In the afternoon (2 pm to 5 pm), you will go on an impressive launch trip on the Nile, up to the falls, giving you a chance to see hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and many different birds.

Day 4
Fort Portal

You'll depart Murchison Falls and head towards Fort Portal. The drive is almost eight hours, but it will provide you with some stunning views as you pass small African villages and banana plantations. The lovely town of Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled mountains of the moon and is famous for the many tea plantations.

Semliki National Park

After breakfast, you'll drive towards Semliki National Park. The scenic, winding road will lead us through green mountains and offer you a magnificent view of the River Semliki and the Congo. After arriving in the protected area, a ranger will accompany us on a beautiful nature walk through the Ituri Rainforest. You'll enjoy the peacefulness of the forest, look out for the rich birdlife at the swamp, and boil an egg in the hot springs that have become an interesting natural attraction. It will be completed with a picnic lunch provided by the guide, while you explore the real Africa. Later in the afternoon, you'll return to Kibale Forest.

Day 6
Chimp, Community and Swamp Walk
Chimp, Community and Swamp Walk
Today, the forest opens its doors for a sensational chimp tracking. Kibale Forest is renowned for having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. You'll enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey, and many others. After a hearty lunch, we'll transfer to the Bigodi Swamp for another, totally different nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the local community and takes approximately two hours. The swamp is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates.

Day 7
Queen Elizabeth National Park

We'll transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is a beautiful route via Kasese, with the Rwenzori Mountains on your right side and the green valley on the left. A game drive on our way to the accommodation in the middle of the national park gives us the chance to spot waterbucks, warthogs, and other wildlife. After lunch, you'll take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the elephants, buffalo, and hundreds of hippos, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari.

The day begins early as you head for the mating ground of the Uganda kobs. You'll search for lions, elephants, buffalo, and other wild animals in their natural habitat before returning for lunch. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to stretch your legs as you visit the Imaramagambo Forest for a walk through the tropical forest. It is known for the Blue Lake and the bat, and the hunter's cave. You will get the chance to have a close look at the bats and maybe even the rock python and forest cobras, which feed on the bats. The same walk will provide you with views of primates, different bird species, and beautiful fauna.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you may choose the optional activity of exploring Kyambura Wildlife Reserve (not included). Driving through a grassland area, all of a sudden we come across an amazing gorge one hundred meters deep, covered with tropical rainforest. You will hike into the gorge of the Kyambura River in search of the wild chimpanzees. It is a beautiful walk through the river valley, home to many birds and butterfly species.
Later, you will leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and head towards Bwindi. The scenic route runs through a verdant countryside while you pass traditional homesteads and farms.

This is the day of gorilla tracking. At 7:45 am, you will be at the office for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for pre-briefing, and at 8:30 am, you will start the trek. After finding the gorillas, you will spend with maximum of 1 hour. All visitors are expected back at the starting point by 7:00 pm. Being physically fit is recommended.

Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you can choose to have a guided village walk for a closer meeting with the local community. You'll learn about their way of living as you walk through coffee, tea, and banana plantations. Afterwards, you'll depart for Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda. This area is often called “Little Switzerland of Uganda” and boasts one of the most beautiful parts of the country. You'll relax or go for a canoe trip while you watch the beautiful sunset.

After the challenging and strenuous hike in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park while tracking gorillas, some relaxing moments on the shores of this peaceful lake are most welcome. The options here are birding, nature walks, swimming, or canoeing (not included).

Early in the morning, you will leave for Lake Mburo National Park. You will have lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara before you continue to Lake Mburo National Park, a smaller but unique park, and the only one in the western part of Uganda with impalas and zebras.

Early morning, you will go for a game walk. In the afternoon, you'll go on a boat trip on Lake Mburo, followed by another game drive in the afternoon/early evening. This little park hosts a variety of mammal species, including a large number of impala, zebra, Uganda kob, duiker, bushbuck, Ankole cattle, topi, buffalo, leopard, spotted hyena, waterbuck, warthog, and oribi.
There are 315 bird species, including the shoebill stork, red-faced barbet, crested crane, and papyrus yellow warbler. The vegetation is mainly an open savannah with acacia trees, Olea, and Boscia. Lake Mburo is a natural haven for fauna and flora. The bank teems with animals and birds. Crocodiles and hippos are permanent residents, and buffalo come to drink during the dry season. The variety of resident birds includes malachite kingfishers, pied kingfishers, African fish eagles, rufous long-tailed starlings, blue-headed weavers, green-necked doves, hammerkops, pelicans, herons, cormorants, and even rare shoebills.

Early in the morning, the last part of the journey will bring you to Entebbe Airport. On the way back after Masaka, there will be an opportunity to stop at the equator for photos, to buy souvenirs, and to have lunch. We will take you directly to Entebbe Airport.
