Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will be picked up from the hotel in Kampala after breakfast by your guide. Thereafter, drive to the southwestern part of Uganda via Masaka. You will have two stopovers along the way. First at the equator to take photographs and buy souvenirs and then also in Mbarara for lunch. Later, drive through the rolling hills with banana plantations and the stunning terraced Kigezi Highlands.

Basically, it will be a great journey as you will have beautiful views of various landscapes. On reaching the park, check in at your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Gorilla trekking and cultural experience

After an early breakfast, leave the lodge with a packed lunch and report to the park headquarters for a briefing at 7:00 am. It includes the rules and guidelines for gorilla trekking. Start on your walk to trek the mountain gorillas, guided by an experienced and knowledgeable park ranger guide who will take you to see these gentle giants.

How long it takes to track gorillas is determined by their location, so it can take anything between 2 to 8 hours. You will have a great time with them and then return to your lodge afterward to refresh and relax. You will then have dinner and overnight.

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will start off your journey to Lake Bunyonyi situated in Kabale. It is the second-deepest lake in Africa and a great place for birders. Here, you will be welcomed by the sweet sounds of the birds. The word Bunyonyi means "small birds" in the local language.

Upon arrival, you will go for a canoe trip on the lake where you will see various birds, communities, and landforms such as the islands (there are around 29 islands in the lake). Take as many photographs as you can. After the canoe trip, have lunch and in the evening go for a community/nature walk.

Return to Entebbe / Airport

Enjoy your breakfast, then check out from the lodge and drive to Entebbe Aiport with an en-route lunch. You will arrive in Entebbe in the evening with great memories from Lake Bunyonyi and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
