On your way, you will have a brief stop at Thomson’s Falls. This is a 74-meters scenic waterfall on the Ewaso Ng’iro River a few kilometers from Lake Ol Bolossat.

Upon arrival at your accommodation, you will check in, have lunch, and relax. Later, go on an afternoon exploration of this beautiful freshwater lake on a boat safari. After an early breakfast, head southwest of Naivasha driving into the Maasai land through the Kedong and Suswa plains before your stopover at the Masai town of Narok. Continue toward the Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive.

One of Kenya’s most visited game reserves, the Mara has an extraordinary density of animals including the Big Five and an array of plains game. The Mara River cuts through the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, giving life to the two game reserves before pouring out into Lake Victoria. With the instinct-led migration of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara starting in the month of July and lasting until October, the Mara is the highlight of this safari. The animals have to outrun the predators on the way making it even more magnificent.

The afternoon game drive starts at 16h00. Return to your accommodation when the sun sets behind the horizon with a beautiful silhouette against the dimming African skies.

Full Day Masai Mara

The second day in the Mara will be spent exploring the extensive grasslands of the Masai Mara on a full-day game drive. You will get a packed lunch and a picnic in the wild. The Masai Mara National Reserve is renowned for being host to the great wildebeest migration. Millions of wildebeest cross the Mara River every year from the Serengeti in search of grazing pastures. As they make their way across the Mara River, some of them are eaten by the hungry crocodiles awaiting them on the river banks (from mid-June till the end of October).

The great migration, which is listed as one of the Wonders of the World, is an experience that you will live to remember. In addition to this, the Masai Mara is home to other animals like waterbucks, baboons, gazelles, monkeys, impalas, and Maasai giraffes. The reserve is also home to over 500 bird species. You will look for shade under an acacia tree for your picnic lunch with amazing views of the savannah. Return to the camp at around 17h00.
