Day 1

Johannesburg and afternoon game drive

Our shuttle partner will await you at the O.R. Tambo Bus Terminal and will pick you up at 07h45. You will be dropped off at Balule Olifants West gate at around 13h20 where one of our guides will pick you up and transfer you through the bush to Ku Sungula Safari Lodge. After a warm welcome and check-in at the rondavels reserved for you, it is time for lunch and relaxing until our guide and tracker take you on your first game drive. The game drives go mainly off-road and our guide will bring you thrillingly close to the animals. Back at the lodge, a wonderful dinner will be served.

Day 2

With an early start and accompanied by our professional tour guide, you leave the lodge heading out on a leisurely drive with beautiful scenery and loads of excitement! Get up early for two full camp days in the Kruger National Park. While residing in private areas, it is worthwhile to visit and explore the world-renowned Kruger National Park. Look out for the legendary Big Five animals and birdlife for which the park is famous, all while touring the different ecological zones with its unbelievable number of species of trees, fish, amphibians, and reptiles. Be sure you have your binoculars ready - we will provide the rest. We reserved a bungalow for the night and will have dinner in the camp.

Day 3

The game viewer will leave early - the best time for animal activity. We will leave the camp in darkness, and soon the first faint hints of the coming sunrise are apparent. The search continues as we eagerly explore the rivers and ravines. Back in the camp, we will have breakfast whereafter we will leave the camp for our following destination in the Kruger National Park.

We will leave the camp after breakfast and start on our way back to Ku Sungula Safari Lodge. Back on the vehicle, you will again have the opportunity to capture a variety of wonderful wildlife in their natural habitat. In the early afternoon, we will be back at the lodge. After checking in and having a splendid high tea, we once again will go on an afternoon game drive. Somehow, the time seems to fly past and you find yourself clambering back onto the vehicle for your afternoon adventure deep in the African bush with a superb blend of African experiences and a heart pounding with excitement. Later, we return to the lodge where a great evening meal awaits.

The game viewer will leave early - the best time for animal activity. Our guide and tracker will try to point out an array of animals for you in these unique surroundings. After the morning drive, a splendid breakfast will be served back at the lodge. You can relax until the early afternoon when we will depart for the Olifants River where we will see wildlife from the river. Game viewing on this houseboat provides you with the unique chance of getting really close to wildlife. It truly is game viewing with a difference. Meander lazily along the waters of the magnificent Olifants River while looking for crocodile, hippo, buffalo, elephant, waterbuck, and a wide variety of other wildlife on the lush green banks of the river. It is an unparalleled 3-hour activity on one of the largest rivers in the Kruger National Park while enjoying a cool drink and some snacks. Back at the lodge, our chefs prepared a great dinner for you in our boma.

Day 6

Experience the Panorama Route

Experience the Panorama Route

Enjoy a full day exploring the Panorama Route. This route is located along one of the largest forested areas in the northeastern province of Mpumalanga and centers around the Blyde River Canyon, the third-largest canyon in the world. The route starts at the foot of Long Tom Pass, then descends to the Lowveld Plains and ends near the border with Limpopo Province. The area that the Panorama Route traverses is mainly characterized by a large number of waterfalls. Other well-known natural phenomena include the rock formations at Bourke's Luck Potholes, the grass-clad mountains of the Three Rondavels and the lookout point at God's Window. The Panorama Route has an important historical significance. Many of the places along the route, such as Pilgrim's Rest, Graskop and Sabie, were established in the late 1800s during the Gold Rush - the search for gold.

Day 7

Johannesburg and bush walk

Johannesburg and bush walk

Greet the new day with a bush walk. With the experience and knowledge of the armed guide, you will set off as your nostrils fill with the scent of crushing wild grass as you find your way through the bushes. This experience is interactive and educational, with the guide teaching you about tracking, animal behavior and the bush ecosystem. Smell and taste the wild herbs, learn their traditional uses, and explore the smaller wonders of the bush. Back at the lodge, a hearty breakfast will be served after which it is time to say goodbye. Your transfer to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport will depart at around 09h40 with the time of arrival in Johannesburg expected between 17h00-18h00.
