Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve (265 km – 5 to 6 hrs)
Your safari will begin with a morning pick-up from the airport or your hotel in Nairobi, and you will then travel to the Masai Mara.
A visit to the Masai Mara is the highlight of every trip to Kenya. Beautiful scenery stretches in every direction, with an abundance of wildlife (including the Big Five).
Between July and October, the great migration takes place as millions of wildebeest and zebra cross into the Masai Mara in search of fresh grazing, closely followed by lions, leopards, and other predators.
In the late afternoon, around 17:00, you will set out on an evening game drive. This is one of the best times to witness wildlife activity, as many animals emerge in the cooler hours of the day. You may catch predators preparing for their nightly hunts, elephants moving toward watering holes, and breathtaking views of the African sunset.
When the day is done, you’ll return to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

The plan for the day can be adjusted based on what you and your guide decide to do.
You can sleep in and have a leisurely breakfast, or you can get up early and go on a full-day safari with a picnic lunch. As a result, you'll be able to see the migration in its natural habitat along the Mara River. There will be more opportunities to see wildlife during the day, and you can return to the resort or camp in the late afternoon.
Alternatively, go on a safari at dawn. After enjoying breakfast, you can unwind until lunchtime before continuing your journey. You'll go on a game drive in the afternoon. Return to the lodge/camp at 6:30 p.m. to have dinner and spend the night.
If you want to see the wildlife from above, you can take a balloon flight in the morning (for an extra fee).
Note: You have the choice of downgrading to a more affordable option (at a discount) or upgrading to a more luxurious one (at an extra cost).
