3-Day Rwanda Gorilla Tour

Arrival at Kigali Airport and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by your driver-guide. Depending on the time of arrival, you have an optional Kigali city tour. Visit some of the major historical sites in the country such as the Genocide Memorial, Presidential Memorial, the Kandt Museum, and craft markets among others. Later in the afternoon, transfer to Volcanoes National Park, home to 10 habituated gorilla families as well as golden monkeys and volcanic mountains. The duration of the drive is about 2 hours.

Gorilla trekking experience and Iby’iwachu cultural tour

Your day will start early in the morning with a refreshing cup of coffee. Drive to the park headquarters to attend the gorilla briefing at 07:30 am at the Kinigi Visitor Center. You will be entertained with traditional dances and a hot cup of coffee. The ranger guides will then lead the way as you trek through the forest to search for the gentle giants. When the gorillas are found, you can spend 1 hour taking as many photos as you can while you observe their behavioral characteristics in their natural setting. Thereafter, you trek back to Kinigi for a hot lunch at your lodge. In the late afternoon, you will have a cultural experience featuring traditional dance performances at the Iby’iwachu Cultural Village.

Golden monkey trekking and departure

After a relaxed breakfast, you will go on yet another exciting experience in Volcanoes National Park to see the thrilling, endangered golden monkeys. After this, you will exit the park and return to Kigali. Go on another city tour before you are dropped off at the airport or hotel. This marks the end of your 3-day Rwanda gorilla tour.
