Day 1

Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve

You will depart from Nairobi at 7:00 am and drive north of Nairobi covering a distance of approximately 310 km. This shall be a scenic journey through the tea, coffee and sisal plantations. There will be an en-route stopover to view Mount Kenya with its snow-capped peaks.

Your drive shall proceed and pass the equator crossing to the semi-arid county of Samburu. You will embark on your first game drive en route to Ashnil Samburu Camp for check-in and lunch. Another game drive is scheduled in the afternoon. You will return to the camp later after the African sunset for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2

Samburu National Reserve

Samburu National Reserve

You'll enjoy your breakfast followed by a full day of unlimited wildlife viewing. Possible sightings include the Special Five
of Samburu; the reticulated giraffe, the Grevy zebra, the Beisa oryx, the Somali ostrich and the gerenuk, all rare species that occur only in this part of the country. You'll also look out for its well-known larger game including elephants, lions and leopards. You will enjoy a picnic lunch before heading back to the camp to relax for the afternoon/evening. Your game drives will be along the Ewaso Nyiro River where most of the wild animals are found.

Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the Ashnil Samburu Camp.

Day 3

Samburu National Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park

You will enjoy a delicious early-morning breakfast, then check out from Samburu Sopa Lodge. You will embark on a drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. On arrival, you will check in at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, have a late lunch, and relax from the long drive.

Afterward, you will proceed for an exciting afternoon game drive. The bird life here is world-renowned, with over 400 bird species recorded including white pelicans, plovers, egrets, and marabou stork. It is also one of the few places in Africa to see white and black rhinos and rare Rothschild giraffes.

You will return to base in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge.

After an early breakfast, you will check out and enjoy en route game drives of Lake Nakuru National Park before leaving for the Masai Mara. The drive from Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara is around a 4-5 hour drive. You'll be arriving at Zebra Plains Mara Camp in time for lunch and check-in. After lunch and relaxation, you will head out for an afternoon game drive until the African sunset.

Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the Zebra Plains Mara Camp.

Day 5

Explore Masai Mara National Reserve

Explore Masai Mara National Reserve

You will enjoy breakfast and head out to a full-day game drive returning in the evening. Your driver/guide will ensure a picnic lunch is packed for you when you leave in the morning. They will be sure to get you a scenic spot to have your meal against the backdrop of the serene African savannah.

The vast Masai Mara is home to abundant wildlife, and you'll be spoilt for choice if you have brought your camera along. Ensure to stay hydrated throughout the day since it gets scorching out here! You'll be almost sure to see all of Africa's Big Five and most likely witness one of the big cat species on the hunt!

Later, you will return to Zebra Plains in the evening for an arranged bush nature walk. You'll embark on relaxed, guided walks by an experienced and knowledgeable guide in a wildlife conservation area. You'll get to see the animals and plants of the region up close and learn about their habits and behaviours.

Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.

Day 6

Masai Mara - Nairobi

After a relaxed breakfast and check-out, the guide will take you to Maasai village, where you will interact with the local people and buy souvenirs. You will then enjoy the road trip to Nairobi with lunch at Narok town. You should be in Nairobi at around 4:00 p.m. Drop off at your hotel or free onward transfer to the airport for your flight home.
