Arrive at Kilimanjaro International airport. Meet Massawe Adventures at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Chanya Lodge where the remainder of the day is spent at leisure. You can rest in your room, relax in the manicured gardens, enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool or explore Moshi and the surrounding areas on one of our day tours, the choice is yours.

Your overnight stay will be at Chanya Lodge, Moshi.

Day 2

Local Tour

Local Tour

After breakfast, you will be met by Massawe Adventures staff with a private vehicle and taken to the beautiful Materuni waterfalls. Materuni Waterfall is a booming waterfall just 15-kilometers from Moshi Town. En route to the waterfalls, we will stop for a coffee tour in the village, where you will have the opportunity to observe the process of making that beloved cup of coffee from the coffee bean. After the visit to the coffee plantation village, you will be served a locally produced lunch, before heading off to explore the massive Materuni waterfalls
This excursion makes for a perfect day trip to climatize with the weather before starting your safari adventure. With about eight kilometers of walking throughout the day and 300 meters of incline, this adventure is a great warm-up for the legs while also getting to immerse yourself in the local culture.

Day 3

Tarangire

This morning you will commence your drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is almost 3,000 sq km in size make it one of Tanzania's largest national parks and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. The name of the park comes from the Tarangire River which crosses through the park. Tarangire is especially spectacular during the dry season (June - November) as wildlife concentrations rival that of the Serengeti. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water source in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lion, leopard, cheetah and giraffe.
You will be staying overnight at Karatu Simba Lodge.

Day 4

Lake Manyara

Lake Manyara National Park offers a mosaic of vegetation habitats which can sustain a high density of wildlife. Its ground water forest which acts like a giant filtering sponge which gradually releases water so it can flow gently into streams, instead of running off, prevents the soil from eroding. From its high concentrations of animals such as elephant, buffalo and antelopes to its dense forests of Trichilia spp, ficus spp the park is diverse with both wildlife and vegetation. With its location at the base of the East African rift valley along the Gregory rift, it offers spectacular viewing of the escarpment. Lake Manyara is one of those national parks which offers rich and diverse game viewing. From its thick ground water forest at the park entrance to its more arid acacia woodland in the south. It is one of the best areas for elephant viewing and close encounters are very common. The bird life here is also exceptional because of its thick brush and forested areas.

The conservation area encompasses the famous Crater, the renowned Olduvai Gorge and vast plains of grasslands, forests and mountains extending to the Serengeti. This 8000-square-kilometre protected area is recognised for its natural beauty and has been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Visitors flock here to soak up the spectacular views of the Ngorongoro Crater, voted as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, it is famed for its natural beauty and abundant wildlife.

Day 7-8

Serengeti National Park

With an early morning start, you will be travelling to one of the most famous National Parks in Africa, the Serengeti. Serengeti National Park gets its name from the Maasai word Siringitu meaning endless plain. The Serengeti is located along the rift valley and is abound with geological formations. One of Serengeti’s defining features is its Kopjes pronounced copy, a feature of continual weathering. Home to millions of wildebeest during the migration and on the vast flat legendary grasslands you are likely to find lions, cheetah, leopards, hyenas and many other smaller predators. After lunch and an extensive game drive, we'll head for our tented lodges for dinner and your overnight stay.
You will spend 2 nights in this incredible place.

Travel to west Kilimanjaro to explore a choice of experiences, suitable for a day excursion or a longer overnight stay in West Kilimanjaro.
Each cultural experience offers a different learning opportunity and each has its own unique flavour. The adventurers may choose between one of the following options:

Visit Osiligilai (traditional Maasai houses) to see how the traditional Maasai live.
Olpopongi (Maasai Cultural Village & Museum) opportunity to experience historical Maasai traditions.

Driving back to Moshi visit the first point of climbing Mt Kilimajaro.

Optional exploration of the town / souvenir shopping trip, other experiences are available depending on the client’s areas of interest.
