2 travelers on Start dateNairobi to Amboseli National Park - Approx 250km (5-hour drive)
Depart for the Amboseli National Park via the Nairobi-Mombasa road. The morning drive is via a typical African savannah country dotted with local homesteads and colorful Maasai herdsmen grazing their cattle. You will arrive in time for lunch and later venture into the park for the scheduled afternoon game-viewing drive.
You will spot the wild elephant herds up close – a little wonder why the park is the best place in Africa to spot such herds. It is home to many other animal species such as the Cape buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, spotted hyena, Maasai giraffe, zebra and blue wildebeest among other African animals. Birdlife is also abundant with both large and small species. Weather permitting, Amboseli National Park offers a beautiful vista of the scenic snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro which makes it a perfect site for photography. It is the tallest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

Amboseli National Park to Lake Naivasha - Approx 350km (7-hour drive)
After breakfast, you will check out and proceed to Naivasha with a lunch break in Nairobi. Proceed with a brief stop at the scenic Great Rift Valley viewpoint. The Great Rift Valley stretches from the Beqaa Valley in Lebanon (which is in Asia) to Mozambique in southeast Africa. It’s a series of contiguous geographic trenches, approximately 6,800 kilometers (4,300 miles) in length, and much of it is found in Kenya, where it has cut the country in two.
The shores host abundant birdlife including pelicans, cormorants, and fish-eagles. There are more animals per acre than in any other Kenyan park, hence many film companies have been to the island to film the herds of wildebeest, waterbuck, zebra, buffalo, and gazelle.
You can go on an optional visit by boat to the hidden gem, Crescent Island Game Sanctuary which is surrounded by water (it is actually a peninsula). The cost is $60 per person.
