Nairobi to Amboseli National Park - Approx 250km (5-hour drive)

Depart for the Amboseli National Park via the Nairobi-Mombasa road. The morning drive is via a typical African savannah country dotted with local homesteads and colorful Maasai herdsmen grazing their cattle. You will arrive in time for lunch and later venture into the park for the scheduled afternoon game-viewing drive.

You will spot the wild elephant herds up close – a little wonder why the park is the best place in Africa to spot such herds. It is home to many other animal species such as the Cape buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, spotted hyena, Maasai giraffe, zebra and blue wildebeest among other African animals. Birdlife is also abundant with both large and small species. Weather permitting, Amboseli National Park offers a beautiful vista of the scenic snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro which makes it a perfect site for photography. It is the tallest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

Your dinner and overnight will be at the booked lodge.

Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National Park

Today you will enjoy a full-day game-viewing extravaganza in Amboseli. With its reputation for active elephant sightings, it’s easy to spot them roaming the plains in the mornings and evenings. During most of the day, you can observe them splashing and foraging in Ol Okenya Swamp. We will also stop at Observation Hill to view the sprawling, breathtaking view of Amboseli.

You may opt to have a full-day game drive or game drives in separate successions so that you also have a chance to enjoy the lodge facilities. The driver-guide will be readily available to discuss your daily activities as per your preferences, including an optional visit to a Maasai village at an extra cost. Every safari is different according to your wishes, likes and expectations. Just let us know how you would like to customize your special journey.

Amboseli National Park to Lake Naivasha - Approx 350km (7-hour drive)

After breakfast, you will check out and proceed to Naivasha with a lunch break in Nairobi. Proceed with a brief stop at the scenic Great Rift Valley viewpoint. The Great Rift Valley stretches from the Beqaa Valley in Lebanon (which is in Asia) to Mozambique in southeast Africa. It’s a series of contiguous geographic trenches, approximately 6,800 kilometers (4,300 miles) in length, and much of it is found in Kenya, where it has cut the country in two.

The shores host abundant birdlife including pelicans, cormorants, and fish-eagles. There are more animals per acre than in any other Kenyan park, hence many film companies have been to the island to film the herds of wildebeest, waterbuck, zebra, buffalo, and gazelle.

You can go on an optional visit by boat to the hidden gem, Crescent Island Game Sanctuary which is surrounded by water (it is actually a peninsula). The cost is $60 per person.

Dinner and overnight are at the booked lodge.

Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve - Approx 245km (5-hour drive)

After an early breakfast, we will proceed to the Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. The reserve is located in southwest Kenya, with a vast, scenic expanse of gently rolling African savannah plains measuring approximately 1,510 square kilometers in area and bordering Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the south.

The Masai Mara is famous for its spectacular natural diversity of wildlife and happens to be a premier Kenya safari location in East Africa, offering visitors many reasons to visit this animal paradise. Large numbers of lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, African buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, rhino, zebra, gazelle, and many more animals are found in the park in their natural habitat. They are unconfined and free to roam the vast wilderness which stretches for miles on end.

We will have an afternoon game drive and then return to the booked lodge for dinner and overnight.
