Day 6

Lake Eyasi to Airport

Lake Eyasi to Airport

After an early morning breakfast, you depart for your cultural tour with the hadzabe community. This is your day with typical cultural tribe and engage in real hunting together. It is a tribe of hunters and collectors. A visit with the hadzabe is worthwhile as they will graciously show you where and how they live and hunt.

The Hadzabe live in traditional ways, hunting game such as dik-diks and collecting honey. Their huts are simple, built in a few hours and as easily abandoned. They subsist entirely off the bush and by bow hunting. Everything they use is made from local materials, including their bows which are strung with giraffe tendon and their arrows which are coated in lethal poison. Their language resembles that of Kalahari Bushmen tribe (who were featured in the 1980 film ‘The Gods Must Be Crazy’) with clicking noises.

After hunting and engagement with the tribe, you depart for Arusha with a stop for your lunch on the way. Later drop to Airport for flight back home.
