Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your safari guide will pick you up from either a guest house or lodge in Entebbe or Kampala if you arrive a day before, or from Entebbe International Airport if you arrive in the very early morning hours. The guide will then drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in South Western Uganda, where you will spend two nights.

The journey is approximately 8-9 hours long, but delightful as you will drive through various local communities and towns along the way. You will also see the beautiful cascading and rolling hills of the Kigezi region. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to cross the equator, where you can stop for photography and participate in the equator line confirmation water experiment. Afterward, you will drive to Mbarara for an en-route lunch before proceeding to your lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for an overnight stay.

Gorilla Habituation

After having an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters to register and join other participants for a briefing on the dos and don'ts during your Uganda Gorilla Habituation Tour. Once the briefing is completed, you will trek through the tropical rainforest of Bwindi with your ranger guides to search for the gorillas. This can take you anywhere from half an hour to three-quarters of the day.

During your trek, you may encounter various wildlife species, including birds and trees, which your guide will provide information about to make your trek more enjoyable. Once you find the gorillas, you will be able to spend over four hours with them. By participating in gorilla habituation, you will receive a certificate for contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.

Drive Back To Entebbe

After having breakfast, you will be driven to either Kampala or Entebbe for your post-tour accommodation. Alternatively, you can choose to fly out of Uganda today. You will follow the same route that you took during the Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour when you came through.

This marks the end of your tour.
