Transfer to Arathusa Safari Lodge in Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve

On arrival at Hoedspruit Airport, you'll be met and transferred to the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, one of southern Africa's most celebrated wildlife areas, sharing an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park.

Your home for the next three nights is Arathusa Safari Lodge, a wonderfully intimate camp where most of the suites look directly out over a busy waterhole. It's the kind of place where you can sit on your veranda with a sundowner and watch elephants come and go as the light fades.

Choose from eight water-facing suites that face the dam, or one of four more secluded bush-facing rooms with a private plunge pool. All have en-suite bathrooms with outdoor showers.

The main areas overlook the dam, with numerous sitting and dining options. Arathusa has a great spa as well.

Game Drives in Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve

Arathusa's guiding team are among the best in the business, and these two full days are yours to enjoy everything the Sabi Sand does so well. Twice-daily game drives head out at dawn and late afternoon -the hours when predators are most active and the light is at its most beautiful. The reserve is justly famous for Big Five sightings, and leopard encounters here are particularly reliable.
For something more immersive, join an armed guide for a morning bush walk: moving slowly through the undergrowth, reading tracks, listening to the sounds of the bush - it's a completely different perspective on the same landscape. Evenings are spent around the fire or under an extraordinary sky; with minimal light pollution, the stars out here need to be seen to be believed.

After your last morning's game drive, you will be transferred by road to your next safari lodge or Hoedspruit Airports for your onward travel.

Note: Consider an upgrade and take a charter flight from Johannesburg directly to the airstrip in the reserve.
