Transfer to Arathusa Safari Lodge in Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve
Transfer to Arathusa Safari Lodge in Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve
On arrival at Hoedspruit Airport, you'll be met and transferred to the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve.
Your home for the next three nights is Arathusa Safari Lodge, a wonderfully intimate camp where most of the suites look directly out over a busy waterhole. It's the kind of place where you can sit on your veranda with a sundowner and watch elephants come and go as the light fades.
Choose from eight water-facing suites that face the dam, or one of four more secluded bush-facing rooms with a private plunge pool. All have en-suite bathrooms with outdoor showers.
The lodge’s main areas boast numerous dining and lounge areas, and all overlook the waterhole. The waterhole is a permanent, year-round water source supporting a remarkable diversity of life: breeding herds of elephant, territorial hippo, plains game coming to drink, and the predators that follow them, while the birdlife is constant.
For those siesta hours, consider a visit to the safari spa, you will not regret it!

Day 2-3
Game Drives in Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve
Game Drives in Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve
Your day begins before sunrise with an early morning game drive as the bush comes to life. The Sabi Sand operates open vehicles with dedicated rangers and trackers. One of the benefits of staying in a private reserve means control – only a strict number of vehicles at a wildlife sighting and off-roading to find the animals. Leopard sightings here are among the most consistent in Africa. Return to the lodge for breakfast and a midday rest before heading out again on your evening drive, running into darkness with spotlights.
No two drives in the Sabi Sand are the same. Guides follow the animals wherever they lead. There are no fixed routes, no predetermined stops – the drive goes where the wildlife takes it, and stays for as long as a sighting deserves. It’s a freedom a national park can’t offer, and one never taken lightly. The animals and the land they move through always come first,
Bush walks are available, generally after brunch and with an armed guide.

Day 4
Depart from Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve
Depart from Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve
After an early morning game drive and breakfast, your private transfer will take you to Hoedspruit Airport for your onward flight. This safari pairs well with a stay at a safari lodge in the Thornybush, Timbavati or Klaserie, or even in the southern Sabi Sand area, a drive through the Panorama Route, or a few nights in Cape Town. Victoria Falls is easily added and makes for a lovely extension.
