Nairobi to Aberdare National Park - Appx 170 kms: 3 hrs drive

Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi or Airport. We then proceed North of Nairobi via the breath-taking pineapple and coffee plantations to the heart of Aberdare Ranges. The look of Aberdare Ranges is deep green, anchored by forested mountains and wild moorlands.
Arrive for lunch at The Aberdare country club which is the base hotel for the Ark where you will be assisted with the check in formalities. After lunch, depart to The Ark in lodge vehicle. The Ark is located at 1800 meters above sea level on the Aberdare Ranges, which overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, which attracts a host of awesome wildlife.
There is also a ground level bunker – the perfect hideout for the discerning photographer. This is a circular pillbox-like structure, and it is from this vantage point that pictures of animals on the salt lick only yards away may be taken through the view holes in complete safety.
