Day 1

Chanya Lodge

Chanya Lodge

Karibu! Welcome to Tanzania. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met and greeted by our Massawe Adventures team who will assist you as you arrive in the country - enabling you to begin your Tanzanian tour stress-free, and in style. For your first night you will be driven to Chanya Lodge which is situated just outside the bustling town of Moshi, known most for being one of Tanzania's coffee-production hubs and home to some fantastic local markets. There are a variety of different restaurants around the town that would be the perfect welcome to your safari adventure, in addition to numerous experiences that will make your first night on tour one to remember.
The simple things in Moshi appear otherworldly. The town itself is vibrant, yet peaceful, with an enviable serenity and picturesque quality (particularly as Kilimanjaro dominates the skyline surrounding the town). Between June and October, when the sky is clearest, evenings in Moshi are amazing.

Local Tour

After breakfast, you will be met by the Massawe Adventures tour guides and driven in a private vehicle to the Materuni Waterfalls. En route to the waterfall, you will visit a village and get to observe the entire process of coffee making as it goes from seed to mug (a treat to tantalise the senses). A lunch will be prepared for you with local produce before you will head off to explore the Materuni Waterfalls. The Local Tour involves around 8km of walking throughout the day (including 300m of incline) - a great warm-up ahead of our safari tour. The waterfalls themselves are a natural beauty to behold. Measuring at an impressive 150 meters, and surrounded by greenery and local wildlife, the Materuni Waterfalls are a must-see for our Pride Of Tanzania Safari Tour.

Following this wonderful welcome to Tanzania, you will spend your second night at the Chanya Lodge.

Day 3

Tarangire

Tarangire

After breakfast, day three of the tour begins with a morning departure for Tarangire National Park – the sixth largest national park in Tanzania. You will have the opportunity to spend the afternoon spotting wildlife in this quieter wildlife (compared to the other national parks) haven featuring a wide variety of habitats.

Here, you will be able to witness majestic herds of elephants playing and bathing in the Tarangire River - while there is also a possibility that you will also see Giraffes, Buffalos, Gazelles, and Zebras. Over 545 species of wild animals have been spotted at Tarangire National Park; this is a fantastic chance to spot some of Africa’s most loved wild animals. The lower visitor numbers add to the authentic safari experience, something our previous guests have been known to love.

You will spend the night at the Tarangire Simba Lodge, situated on the fringe of the park itself. Guests can often spot the local wildlife from their lodgings.

Manyara

The Fourth Day begins with an early morning departure for Lake Manyara National Park, with lunch provided on arrival. Located at the base of the East African Rift Valley, parallel to the Gregory Rift, the national park offers spectacular viewing of the escarpment; a magnificent sight indeed!

Described as a hidden gem of Tanzania, Lake Manyara is an extraordinary place to see much-loved wild animals in principal view. Lake Manyara offers a slightly different variety of animals from what you'll have seen previously at The Tarangire National Park, allowing you to experience an alternative wildlife scene.

Famous for tree-climbing lions and home to large herds of elephants that greet tourists spectacularly, Lake Manyara will satisfy many of your safari desires! From swamps and the tranquil lake to the mountainous escarpment of the Great Rift Valley, there are a wealth of habitats to explore (by car and on foot).

At the end of the drive we'll then retire to the Karatu Simba Lodge.

Day 5

Ndutu

Ndutu

On Day Five, we will drive to Ndutu, the North-western area of Ngorongoro Conservation Area, located on the border between Ngorongoro and the Serengeti.

The Ndutu Region forms part of the northern section of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and stretches to the unfenced southern reaches of the Serengeti National Park. This astounding location is renowned for sensational sightings of vast migrating herds of wildebeest and zebra, a wildlife movement that is quite something to witness! Ndutu is also reputable for being a consistent place to view the local wildlife, particularly during the green season.

Our fifth overnight location is also known for its beautiful views. The Lake Masek Tented Camp promises to be just as much part of your Tour Experience as the safari adventures that we embark upon. With evening campfires and spectacular morning sunrises - the Lake Masek Tented Camp always leaves guests wanting more - in all the best ways.

Day 6

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

On the penultimate day of our Pride Of Tanzania Tour, your day will begin with a hearty breakfast, closely followed by departure to the Ngorongoro Crater; one of the seven natural wonders of the world (sometimes known as “Africa’s Garden Of Eden”). This wondrous site happens to be home to a concentrated population of wildlife consisting of an estimated 30,000 animals (including The Big Five).

Geographically, the Ngorongoro Crater is an essential part of the Serengeti's ecosystem - and, impressively, it is the world's largest known inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera (the structure left behind following a volcanic eruption). Evidently, wildlife aside, there is so much to take in from this particular sight meaning that there is something for everybody to enjoy no matter the area of interest.

At the Ngorongoro Crater, you will also enjoy lunch before returning to Moshi for a final night’s stay at Chanya Lodge.

Main Destination:
Ngorongoro Crater
Best Time To Visit June to October (Wildlife viewing is best)
High Season Most of the year – July to March (Expect crowds)
