Arrival in Arusha - Karatu

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, our tour guide driver will pick you up and drive to Karatu in a 4x4 Jeep for your overnight stay, waiting for your safari the following day.

If you have time, we can stop at local markets along the way and in Karatu village. Otherwise, you can relax at the lodge.

Serengeti National Park

Program: After breakfast, you will leave Karatu and drive to Serengeti National Park for game viewing with a picnic lunch box. You will enjoy a game drive en route through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Serengeti is over 6,000 square miles of sprawling, unspoiled landscape. Add to that an extraordinary population of resident and migratory animals in a constant bid for survival, and you understand why this is often called "the world as it was in the beginning". As soon as you enter the park, wildlife viewing begins. Search for leopard and lion, and watch herbivores like zebra, wildebeest, and elephant simply appear from amidst the woodlands and plains.

After the game drives, we'll drive to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Program: Early, after breakfast, we have a full-day game viewing in Serengeti National Park. You will have a hot or picnic lunch provided. You will enjoy the day exploring this huge park full of wildlife. Today, you can experience an early morning game drive.

After the game drives, we'll drive to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

Program: After breakfast, we will leave the Serengeti with a last en-route game drive and move to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for game viewing with packed lunch boxes.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to an estimated 30,000 animals. It is often called “Africa's Eden” and the Eighth Natural Wonder of the World. A visit to the crater is a main attraction for tourists visiting Tanzania and a definite world-class destination. Within the crater rim, large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Just outside the crater's ridge, the nomadic Maasai herd their cattle and goats across green pastures and through the highland slopes.

After the game drives, we'll drive to the lodge/camp for dinner and your overnight stay.
