Settle into your tent and enjoy lunch while looking at the Masai Mara Reserve. At around 4 pm, you will meet your guide for your afternoon game drive. As the temperature cools in the late afternoon, the predators of the Mara start preparing for the evening hunt.

During your afternoon game drive, you will witness how the constant battle for survival makes the migration season a particularly exhilarating time to visit the Masai Mara. As the sun sets, you will return to camp for dinner, followed by stargazing and storytime around the fireplace. When you’re ready, one of the Maasai night guards (known as Askaris), will escort you back to your tent for your overnight stay.

Day 3

Full Day in Masai Mara

Full Day in Masai Mara

Wake up early and grab a quick cup of coffee and some snacks before embarking on an early morning game drive into the Masai Mara National Reserve. Don’t forget your camera since it is a beautiful time of the year for photography; the air is clear and bright, and the bush is alive with vibrant colour and new life, creating great photo opportunities. Abundant wildlife on the savannah offers fantastic photo opportunities.

Catch the action as the predators hunt their prey and stalk the herds, like lions and cheetahs, capturing them with your lens and in your heart. Return to the lodge for a well-deserved breakfast, followed by relaxation

After lunch, take some time to relax and later depart with your driver-guide for an afternoon game drive in search of the Big Five. The low afternoon light is perfect for photographing the beautiful rolling plains of the Masai Mara.

In the early evening, as you make your way back to the lodge, you may get lucky and spot a leopard on the prowl.

The island has no predators that can attack animals or humans, so you will experience up-close views of buffalo, waterbuck, antelope, giraffe, and zebra, among others. A boat ride around the lake is refreshing and should not be missed.

End the day with a stunning sundowner with a glass of wine while watching the sunset over the plains and Mau escarpment or along the lakeshore.
