Johannesburg/Pretoria to Pilanesberg Game Reserve

This tour begins with an early morning pickup from Johannesburg or Pretoria, depending on your location and traffic. The drive to Pilanesberg Game Reserve takes between 2 and 4 hours, depending on where you are picked up from. Upon arrival at the reserve, guests embark on a 2.5- to 3-hour game drive in a closed tour vehicle, with the duration depending on any exciting animal sightings.

A lunch break is taken between 12h00 and 13h00 at Pilanesberg Centre, where guests can enjoy a light lunch and beverages at their own expense while overlooking a large waterhole. After lunch, guests are taken to Manyane Resort to check in and drop off their bags.

In the afternoon, guests meet their guide for an open safari vehicle tour, lasting 2.5 to 3 hours depending on what they see. After the game drive, guests return to the resort to freshen up before dinner, which is prepared by their guide.

Wake up early for hot beverages and rusks before it’s time to depart for a 2.5- to 3-hour sunrise game drive in an open safari vehicle. Again, the exact length of the game drive depends on what you see and how long you stop at animal sightings.

Return to Manyane mid-morning for a late breakfast prepared by your guide. Relax in your tent and enjoy the resort facilities. Lunch is at your own cost at the resort's on-site restaurant.

Your guide for the afternoon safari tour meets you mid-afternoon at Manyane, between 16h00 and 16h30. Climb on board an open safari vehicle for a 2.5- to 3-hour game drive (again, it depends on what you see).

After a wonderful game drive, your guide returns you to the resort. Freshen up and relax before it’s time for dinner, which is prepared by your guide.

You will overnight in a thatched chalet at Manyane Resort.

Pilanesberg Game Reserve/Sun City to Johannesburg/Pretoria

The tour begins with an early morning wake-up call for hot beverages and rusks before departing on a 2.5- to 3-hour sunrise game drive in an open safari vehicle. The length of the drive depends on animal sightings and how long you choose to stop at each one.

At 11h00, you leave the resort for their final game drive in a closed tour vehicle. A stop is made at midday for lunch and refreshments at Pilanesberg Centre, with expenses for your own account. The tour then leaves the game reserve for the return journey to Johannesburg, arriving back in the city between 17h30 and 18h30, depending on traffic and drop-off locations.

Guests can visit Sun City for a quick 2-hour visit instead of an extended midday game drive. This option involves leaving the resort at 11h00 and driving through the game reserve for about 30 to 40 minutes to reach Sun City.
