Today, we will have a half-day game drive in Serengeti. After lunch, we will drive to the Ngorongoro Crater rim. There are several documented resident lion prides just within a 1-hour game drive radius from Seronera. During the Dry season, the resident prides begin to shift west and north in their territories and concentrate in the central region of the park. The Dry season is a particularly good time for lion viewing in the Central Serengeti. The Central Serengeti is also one of the best areas in Africa to spot the elusive leopard. Ngorongoro Crater to Mto wa Mbu
Early in the morning, descend into the Ngorongoro Caldera to witness the incredible wildlife on the crater floor. Often called “Africa’s Eden” and the “8th Natural Wonder of the World,” the Ngorongoro Crater is a massive extinct volcano whose steep walls enclose a lush, wildlife-filled sanctuary.
Large herds of zebra, buffalo, antelope, and wildebeest graze across the verdant plains while lions bask in the morning sun. If you’re lucky, you may spot the endangered black rhino retreating into the forest after feeding on dew-laden grass in the misty dawn.
Later in the afternoon, ascend from the crater and enjoy a scenic drive back to Arusha, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or preferred location within Arusha town, arriving in the evening.
