Day 1

Your tour guide will pick you up and leave for Masai Mara directly from the airport or after breakfast from your hotel in Nairobi depending on your arrival and departure time. You'll drive through the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This extensive reserve is actually part of the Serengeti vast plains famously known for its amazing Great Migration of wildebeest and is home to the Big Five: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino. You will have lunch at the camp and relax shortly before proceeding for the afternoon drive. Other animals in the park include the Maasai giraffes, buffalos, elands, impalas, zebras, topi, and both Thompsons and Grant gazelles.

Day 2

After breakfast, you will leave for a full-day game drive with packed lunch or you can agree with your guide to break for lunch at the camp. On the plains are large herds of herbivores grazing and cheetahs and leopards hiding in their locations. A visitor hardly misses seeing the Big Five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino). You will have an opportunity to drive down to the Mara River, site of the Great Migration in season – July through October. The immense herds of wildebeest and zebra are a magnificent sight, matched only by the drama of the predators who lie in wait for them.
For more experience at an extra cost, you will have the alternative of visiting the nearby Maasai community and witnessing their lifestyle and traditional culture, you can also have a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride high above the reserve as the morning light breaks across the golden savannah and witness the herds of wildlife emerging into the day.
