Nairobi to Masai Mara

Meet and greet at JKIA by our driver-guide. After a brief introduction, depart for the Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy a leisurely drive with a brief stopover at the viewpoint to marvel at the scenic beauty of the Great Rift Valley. Lunch will be served at the camp/lodge. In the afternoon, we will organize a visit to a Maasai village.

This is a vast area of grassy plains converging by the meandering Mara River. It is an African gem and an area rich in culture, tradition and beauty, home to the Big Five. It is here that one of the most spectacular phenomena of the natural world takes place - the great annual wildebeest migration - an occurrence that has been named as one of the Seven Wonders of the World by a jury of experts polled by ABC TV in the USA. The great migration involves an estimated 1.3 million wildebeests, 200,000 zebras and a multitude of gazelles escorted by a good number of carnivores. The action happens between July and October. The afternoon game drive is at 16h00.

Today you will have a full-day game drive in the park. You will be in your exclusive safari vehicle with your professional tour guide, who will assist in the search for wildlife and take photos at different locations. Named after the "Maa" people, the Masai Mara, together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular ecosystems. Return to your lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight.
