Wings over the Ocean, Where the Island ends and the Wild Begins

Your Tanzania adventure begins at your hotel door. Your private guide will escort you to Zanzibar Airport, where you’ll board a scenic one-hour flight over the turquoise Indian Ocean to the Tanzanian mainland, a view worth watching.

Upon landing at Arusha Airport, your private safari guide and our representative will welcome you. Before you head into the bush, you’ll receive a concise safari briefing on your itinerary, what to expect, and wildlife behavior.

From Arusha, you’ll head straight to Tarangire National Park, home to one of East Africa’s largest elephant populations. Here, elephants roam among ancient baobab trees alongside lions, leopards, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and abundant birdlife.

Enjoy lunch in the park, staying immersed in the wilderness. As the light softens and the game drives end, you’ll drive to Karatu for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly beautiful setting and the best place in East Africa to see the Big Five. It is one of the most beautiful natural wildlife safari sites in the world and an exceptional place to interact with the Maasai people. On reaching the crater’s edge, the 20 km diameter caldera opens up before you in all its stunning glory, and you will descend into the crater on an adventurous trail. This World Heritage Site is seasonally home to over 25,000 animals, including a wide range of bird species, hyenas, and the endangered black rhino. The Endless Plains, Chasing the Horizon Across the heart of the Serengeti

There is nothing quite like waking up in the Serengeti. After an early breakfast, you'll head out for a full morning of game drives across the park's iconic plains. The Serengeti is the stage for some of the most extraordinary wildlife encounters in the world, from cheetahs sprinting across the open grassland to leopards draped lazily over acacia branches, and lion prides navigating their territories with quiet authority. If your visit coincides with the Great Wildebeest Migration, witnessing hundreds of thousands of animals moving across the landscape is an experience that defies description.

Lunch will be served inside the park, and the afternoon game drives continue as you begin making your way back eastward. The journey itself is a game drive; keep your eyes on the bush, as the Serengeti rarely disappoints. As the sun begins its descent, you'll arrive back in Karatu for a peaceful dinner and overnight stay.

Final Morning in the Wild, from the Lake Shores to the Island shores

Your final morning in the bush begins with breakfast before you head to Lake Manyara National Park for one last, two-hour game drive. Though compact, Lake Manyara teems with wildlife and is renowned for its rare tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, elegant giraffes, and shimmering pink bands of flamingos along the lakeshore.

After the game drive, you'll head to the vibrant town of Mto wa Mbu, a lively cultural hub sitting at the gateway to the Great Rift Valley. Here, you'll enjoy a delicious local lunch, sampling the rich and diverse flavours of Tanzanian cuisine in a setting that feels wonderfully authentic and far from the tourist trail.

From Mto wa Mbu, your driver-guide will take you to Arusha Airport for your flight back to Zanzibar. As the wilderness gives way to the Indian Ocean, you’ll return with unforgettable memories. On arrival, your transfer guide will meet you at Zanzibar Airport and take you to your hotel.
