Day 1

Fly to Mafia Island

After breakfast, you'll depart back to Dar with a packed lunch. You'll arrive for your flight to Mafia at 4:45 pm. On arrival, you will be met by your lodge driver, who will transfer you to the lodge.
You'll relax at your accommodation or choose from one of the many extra optional activities available on this unique island. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Butiama Marine Camp

Day 2-3

Leisure in Mafia Island

After breakfast, you'll enjoy your day at the beach (you can choose excursions to do direct at the lodge, e.g., diving, whale shark diving, or snorkeling, and many more options). Whale sharks are present on Mafia Island year-round but peak seasons to spot and go out swimming with them are November through to February.

You'll check the tides and activities on offer from your lodge daily. If you’re very lucky, you might be there for a turtle nest hatching also! In the evening, you will have a chance for a city tour in Mafia Island, learn about how the people of Mafia Island live, and their history. Later, you'll enjoy your dinner and stay overnight at Butiama Marine Camp.

Day 4

Dar es Salaam

After a final leisurely breakfast, you will excursion which you will choose on this day, such as snorkeling at Chole Island or spending your last Day on Mafia Island Beach. Your driver will transfer you back (across the island) to the airstrip. You'll catch your flight back to Dar es Salaam at 5:35 pm - 6:10 pm. If you are from Zanzibar, you will take the flight at 5:00 pm, return to Dar or Zanzibar, depending on where you're taking your flight back home.
