Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut

During our exhilarating climb to the summit, we embark on a predawn ascent, commencing at the stroke of midnight. This arduous leg of the trek, fraught with biting winds and bone-chilling cold, tests our mental and physical mettle to the fullest. Swathed in darkness, we steadily ascend for hours, punctuating our journey with brief respites. As we draw near Gilman's point, nestled at a breathtaking altitude of 18,600 feet, nature rewards us with a resplendent sunrise painting the silhouette of Mawenzi Peak. The zenith of our expedition awaits at Uhuru Peak, a triumphant triumph perched atop Mount Kilimanjaro, reigning supreme as Africa's loftiest pinnacle. Enthralled by the awe-inspiring vistas, we eventually commence our descent towards Horombo Hut, bidding farewell to the majestic heights. As twilight descends, we relish our final mountainous feast, replenishing our spirits for a well-deserved respite.

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

On the final leg of our trek, we embark on the descent from Horombo Hut towards Mweka Gate. The transition is striking as we leave behind the frigid, desolate highlands and enter a vibrant, tropical rainforest. Caution is paramount as the trail becomes slippery and mire-laden, demanding our vigilance. At Mweka Gate, we shall receive our hard-earned summit certificates, tangible proof of our triumphant feat. Our journey persists for approximately an hour to Mweka Village, where a waiting vehicle will whisk us away to our cozy haven in Moshi.
