Day 1

Arrival Entebbe – To Lake Bunyonyi for Relaxation

The day will open up early morning with an introduction and briefing from our company safari guide who will also pick you up from the airport and give you all the details involved in this trip. You will then start your drive to the deep Southwestern parts of Uganda as the journey is about 8-9 hours’ drive 70 km into this drive along the Masaka road you will make your first stopover for a photo session on the Equator Monument in Kayabwe Town.

While at the equator, you will have a picture moment showing how you crossed the world in the middle from the northern hemisphere to the southern hemisphere.
You shall proceed to Mbarara town for a hot lunch stopover as well as refreshments. Right after lunch, you shall continue with your journey to Lake Bunyonyi arriving in the afternoon for an amazing trip on the numerous islands on this lake. Lake Bunyonyi has about 29 islands and each of these islands has got a unique story that your local site guide will help you out in interpreting.

Day 2

Drive To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park the home to endangered mountain gorillas which lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants. More famously, this “impenetrable forest” also protects an estimated 400 mountain Gorillas. – Roughly half of the world’s population, including several habituated groups, which can be tracked. There are 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemic bird species including Blue-throated Broadbill, bar-tailed Trogon and other beautiful forest species. Upon arrival, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the forest and a guided nature walk to the forest if time allows. You will later retire to for dinner as you get ready for the wonderful experience with the gentle giants.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters and meet with excellent local ranger guides and trackers who will brief you about the etiquette of gorilla trekking. Thereafter head off to the forest for Gorilla trekking in the company of an experienced ranger who will tell you interesting facts about flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. Trekking the Mountain Gorilla is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences, although the hike is physically demanding the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery makes the trekking worthwhile. The trek will take between 2 and 6 hours but is well worth the effort and such an amazing experience. A forest walk in Bwindi rewards the travelers with an exclusive feeling of a natural virgin forest, sweet melodies of birds singing up in the trees as well a close encounter with wild animals such as vervet monkeys, among others.
Right after your gorilla trek, you will then embark on your journey to Lake Mburo NP.

Day 4

At sunrise, you will have breakfast and have a game drive as you enter the park. Lake Mburo National Park is a compact gem, located conveniently close to the highway that connects Kampala to the parks of western Uganda. It is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks, and it is home to 350 bird species including flame head Barbet, Long-tailed Zitting Cisticola (Tabora), African Bins Rail, Collared Barbet, binding Bush singer among others, as well as Eland, Buffalo, Orbi, Topi, Leopard, Hippo, Hyna, and many more. The park forms part of a 50km-long wetland system linked by a swamp. Once covered by open savanna, Lake Mburo National Park now contains much woodland as there are no elephants to tame the vegetation.
After this amazing game drive, you will checkout of your lodge and then head back to Kampala / Entebbe international Airport with a lunch at the Famous Equator restaurant and this will mark the end of our amazing 4 days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Uganda Safari Tour.
