Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

We will pick you up from your hotel at 8:00am. After being introduced to the guide, chef, and other clients, we will drive to Tarangire National Park.

The park is famous for its diverse landscapes, particularly the abundance of ancient baobab trees and the largest concentration of elephants in Tanzania! The abundance of elephants provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. We will do a game drive through the park depending on where there are reported sightings of animals. Predators like lions, cheetahs and leopards are more challenging to spot, but herbivores, such as giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras, are plentiful throughout the park.

We will go to the Tarangire River picnic site to enjoy the view of the river and animals while having lunch. Small monkeys and baboons will try to scare you off your lunch, but that is normal. We proceed with the game drive, exit the park around 4:30pm and head to Fig Tree Lodge & Camp for an overnight stay.

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we will head towards the Serengeti National Park via the beautiful Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we will descend into the heart of wild Africa—the Serengeti National Park—with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We will head to the central park area, known as the Seronera Area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and attracts wildlife well representative of most Serengeti species. We will arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Dinner and your overnight stay are at a public campsite.

Ngorongoro Crater and Return to Arusha

After an early breakfast, we will descend over 600 meters onto the crater floor for a half day game drive. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a wide variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense predator population, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopards, which sometimes require a trained eye to spot. Compared to other parks, Ngorongoro is the only park where you can easily see black rhinos. We will have lunch at a picnic site. After lunch, we ascend the crater in the afternoon and drive back to Arusha for your drop off in the city or airport.
