Drive to Barrydale, a small fruit farming center on the boundary of the Overberg & Klein Karoo. This charming town offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Enjoy a light lunch here. Continue to Oudtshoorn on Route 62 via historical villages like Ladysmith & Calitzdorp. In Oudtshoorn, partake in a guided tour of an ostrich farm, & in town, view the famous feather palaces. Check into your luxury guest house on a working ostrich farm. Time to relax, explore, swim & sip on your aperitif whilst watching a magnificent Karoo sunset.

Great Garden Route, Cango Caves, Victoria Bay & Knysna Lagoon sunset cruise
Early this morning, you have the opportunity to see meerkats in their domain with a respected safari ranger. Meerkats are part of the so-called Shy 5, which also includes the bat-eared fox, the aardvark, porcupine and aardwolf. The meerkat tour is 2-3 hours and booking is essential. After a hearty breakfast back at the guest house go visit the Cango Caves. The tour is managed by accredited cave guides. The caves are a series of underground tunnels and galleries with impressive limestone formations. Thereafter, take the road over the famous “Outeniqua Pass” which leads down to the Garden Route and Knysna. Arriving on the shores of the Indian Ocean, your port of call is Victoria Bay, a small sandy cove framed by high cliffs and a surfer's paradise. Continue to Knysna where you can enjoy a sunset boat cruise (optional) on the iconic lagoon. The Waterfront is a great place to dine overlooking the lagoon. Sample the famous Knysna oysters.

The Great Garden Route to Cape St Francis Bay - sunshine coast
Before leaving on your journey, admire the view of “The Heads”, which is formed by two cliffs creating a narrow passage at the entrance of the lagoon. You pass through the ancient indigenous forests which were, and possibly still are, home to the last of the forest elephants. Next, we pass through Plettenberg Bay, a small, chic tourist town with lagoons and great beaches.
At the Tsitsikamma National Park, we will walk amongst huge yellow wood trees and cross the Storms River mouth via a suspension bridge - beautiful scenery and thrills guaranteed. Enjoy lunch overlooking the mighty Indian Ocean. You then head NE to reach Cape St Francis in the Eastern Cape, with its incredible beaches. The region, especially Jeffrey's Bay, is famous for having the world's best right-hand point break. The opportunity to surf or learn to surf awaits you! Tonight, fall asleep to the sound of big waves in the Indian Ocean.

Addo Elephant National Park & sunset/night game drive with ranger - included
Leaving the Tsitsikamma area, stop to admire the “Big Tree”, an ancient yellow wood with impressive dimensions.
It's a relatively short drive to the wonderful Addo Elephant NP, a diverse wildlife conservation park that is one of the country’s 19 national parks. It is famous for the “Big Seven” and “the Big Five” plus whales & sharks, as the park now includes a coastline! The park is renowned for the magnificent elephants you encounter at the waterholes. We safari drive in this naturally conserved Big Five park (but don't forget about the 450 bird species found here).
This afternoon, you partake in a sunset/nocturnal game drive with an experienced game ranger with unsurpassed knowledge of the African bush (included). Please note these (after-hours) safari activities can only be operated by the parks board, therefore making it a special experience.

Addo Elephant National Park safari - Port Elizabeth
After a hearty breakfast, enter the Addo Elephant National Park for a final safari drive and search for wildlife you might not have encountered as yet.
Depending on your departure time, visit the fabulous, fun city of Port Elizabeth with its beaches, promenades and interesting history. The airport is only a 7-minute drive from Port Elizabeth. Drop off your rental at the airport.
This beautiful city on the Indian Ocean merits an overnight stay if you have time on your hands. We can arrange beachfront accommodation if you desire to stay longer. Other beautiful holiday villages nearby include Kenton-on-Sea and Port Alfred. They are a mere 45 minutes from Addo National Park.
