Enjoy a hot breakfast, check out, and proceed on a game drive as we head toward Tsavo East National Park. We will arrive in time for lunch at Voi Safari Lodge and depart on an afternoon game drive. The sight of dust-red elephants wallowing, rolling, and spraying each other with the midnight-blue waters of the palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300km Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, makes for an adventure unlike any other in Tsavo East National Park.
The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to many large mammals. Some of the resident mammals in the park include vast herds of dust–red elephants, rhinos, buffalos, lions, leopards, pods of hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, lesser kudus, gerenuks, and a prolific birdlife that features 500 recorded species.
