Transfer to mgahinga national park

Assuming you arrive in Entebbe International Airport, you will depart Entebbe/Kampala for your transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in South western Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to half the number of mountain gorillas in the whole world. It is also the only place where chimpanzees co-exist with Mountain Gorillas. You will have an en route stopover at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe to take photographs and observe a simple experiment before continuing to Mbarara town for Lunch. After lunch, you will embark on your scenic filled drive to mgahinga national park reaching kisoro late evening.

Gorilla trekking in Uganda

After an early morning breakfast, with your packed lunch, you will report to the Park Headquarters at about 7:45 am for registration and then you will join other trackers for a briefing about the Dos and the Don’ts during your Gorilla Tracking safari. Your guides will lead you through the thick creepers and undergrowth as you trek to find the Gorillas. This trek can take you half an hour to three quarters of the day. The amount of time you take during the trek largely depends on the movement of the gorillas. But it is an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures. Also as you trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them before trekking back to the Park headquarter where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and in recognition of your contribution to the conservation of mountain gorillas.

Golden monkey trekking

After your breakfast, you will drive to Mgahinga National Park for briefing and then go for your golden monkey trekking. This golden monkey walk will expose you to other attractions like birds, other primate species and Mgahinga is known as the place were gold meets silver meaning golden monkey.

Transfer to Kampala

After your breakfast, you will be driven to Kampala or Entebbe for your post tour accommodation or you may choose to fly out of Uganda on this day. You will again have another chance to make a stopover at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe.
