Transfer to jinja

After breakfast, connect to Jinja for an excursion, en route Mabira forest-the Uganda’s largest tropical forest for either nature walk or skyway zip-lining. Thereafter, continue to Jinja the second largest town for your preferred excursions. Upon arrival, have lunch then do an activity of your choice like white water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking, or rest as you wait for an evening activity. Late afternoon, explore the source of the Nile with the sunset boat cruise on River Nile.

Day 4

Fullday sip falls tour

After breakfast, meet your Driver and connect to the Sipi falls information center to get a guide who will lead you on the hike. Sipi falls has 3 falls located on Mt Elgon foothills with the smallest stretching at 75m, second at 85m and biggest at 100m. You can decide to hike all the 3 falls or 2 depending on your physical fitness. This will be a whole day activity and therefore clients do carry parked lunch with them. After your hike, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Game drive/Cultural Experience

Game drive/Cultural Experience

Have early breakfast and go for a game drive in Narus valley a famous place for game drives in Kidepo valley national park. You have chances to see wild cats including lions, Leopards and cheetahs. Other animals likely to be sighted include Zebras, buffaloes, elephants and different species of antelopes among others.

After this morning breakfast, return to your lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon, go for another game drive to Kidepo valley where you will meet the largest seasonal river in Kidepo and then different species of birds Ostriches being the most famous. You will also visit the hot springs in this area just close to South Sudan Border.

Instead of a game drive in the afternoon, you can chose to visit the Karamojong community in a cultural tour to learn about their rich culture. The Karamojong were formally the Cattle Wrestlers and the most backward community in Uganda before the government came out to help them get civilization.

After your breakfast, meet your driver for transfer Murchison falls National Park through Tangi Gate. Make a stopover in Gulu town for lunch and thereafter proceed to Murchison. Arrive in the evening and check in your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Murchison falls is the largest park in Uganda and has the most animals. On your game drive, you are likely to see animals like the Elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes including bush/water back, oribi, Jackson’s hartebeest, Uganda Kob among others. On a lucky morning, you will sight leopards, lions and hyenas. Return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, connect for 2:00PM boat cruise to the bottom of the Murchison falls along the Nile During the boat cruise, you will have a chance to see big schools of hippos, buffaloes on the shores coming to drink water, and variety of bird species including Kingfisher, Cormorants and bee-eaters among others. After getting close to the falls, there will be a stopover for photographs for like 10 minutes before going back. You can choose to hike the top of falls (45 minutes’ walk) with an additional cost which gives you opportunity to view the falls from different points. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Your driver guide will transfer you to the briefing place right after breakfast, he will then hand in your details and permits for registration and allocation of chimpanzee community to trek. You will then be allocated to a chimpanzee community and your ranger guide will lead you on the trek in search of this great ape. Watch the chimpanzees in their natural habitat, as they swing from the branches in the canopy high above the forest floor, feed, play and rest.

After your breakfast, go for a nature walk at Bigodi wetland popularly known for birding. You will not only enjoy the silence but also the whispers and sounds of birds. Bigodi wetland is where you will experience a lot of bird life and unspoiled nature and if you are good at birding, this is a great place to spot various bird species. Return to your hotel for lunch.

After lunch, connect to Queen Elizabeth National Park for dinner and overnight stay. You will have a stopover at the Equator for photography and visit the Kikorongo women group for entertainment or storytelling and visit their craft shop for souvenirs before checking in your lodge.

After early morning breakfast, meet your driver for transfer to Kasenyi the famous place for game drives and mating ground for antelopes. You will have a chance to view different wild animals including lions, buffaloes, elephants, different antelopes and many more nocturnal animals and predators from hunting. After game drive, return to your hotel to relax and have lunch.

At 3:00pm, you will go for the famous launch cruise at Kazinga channel for 2 hours. While on the launch cruise, you will be able to see what you missed during your game drive. You have chance to see elephants and buffalos on the shores, crocodiles sun bathing and big schools of hippos. This is a good place to sight different bird species both original and migratory.

Have breakfast and proceed to park offices for briefing about Mountain Gorilla trekking by the Ranger guide. This is where you will be given the gorilla family to track and briefed about the rules that guide gorilla tracking. This activity is approximated to last for 4 to 6 hours and of which you will spend 1 hour with the gorillas after encountering with them. Time can be more or less depending on the movement of the gorilla family you have been assigned to track. Meeting the gorillas in their natural habitat is one of life rewarding experiences that last a life time. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures at very close range. After an hour with the long-awaited gorillas, your guide and rangers will lead you back to the starting point for de briefing and awarding of certificates. Then transfer back to the lodge to relax, have dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, connect to the park offices for briefing about this cultural activity by the Batwa guides together with the UWA ranger guide as interpreter. The Batwa were the original occupants of the forest before it was degazetted into the national park. They used to survive on the forest entirely and it was their ancestral home. Later, they were moved out of the park and settled in the neighborhood communities surrounding the national park. This activity helps support them as a way of living. They will guide you through the forest with enriching stories on how they used to stay and survive on the forest for their livelihood. This will give you an enriching cultural experience that will last a life time.

After breakfast, you will set off to Lake Bunyonyi a lava dammed lake believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa after Tanganyika with the depth between 44m and 900m and about 7 to 25kms wide. The lake is located between Kisoro and Kabale districts in the Southwestern Uganda. Its 2 hours drive from Kisoro to Lake Bunyonyi.

Take a boat trip to some of the fascinating islands on the lake which include; Kyahugye Island where you will some wildlife including Zebras, waterbucks, impalas and Uganda kobs, Akampeine island popularly known as a punishment island where pregnant unmarried girls from Kigezi were dumped to die up to early 60s when it was abandoned. Also, Bwama and Njuyeera Island, where missionary Dr. Leonard Sharp founded a leper colony. Return in the evening at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Wake up very early and drive to Lake Mburo National Park, it’s 5 hours drive with enroute Lunch and stop over at Igongo cultural Centre where you will visit the museum and learn about the history and culture of Ankole Kingdom/stopover at Embulala lodge with enriching cultural experience of the Bahima; the cattle keepers. Thereafter, continue to Lake Mburo to check in your hotel, have dinner and then go for a night game drive with a ranger guide, with good chances to view wildlife in the night. On a very lucky day, you will see the lions and leopards hunting or feeding. This lasts between 2 to 3 hours.
