Helicopter to Okavango Delta & Mokolwane Camp
Helicopter to Okavango Delta & Mokolwane Camp
On arrival in Maun, you will be escorted to your helicopter for a transfer to the newly opened Mokolwane Camp, in the heart of the southern Okavango Delta. Mokolwane is in the Xudum concession, 200 000 hectares of pristine wilderness.
This is leopard country! These territorial cats love it here so much, that the area boasts the third highest density recorded anywhere in Africa. The area is a classical Okavango Delta landscape - a mix of open grasslands, fertile floodplains, crystal clear lagoons, reeded islands, riverine and mopane forests, creating a wonderfully varied landscape to explore.
During the flood season, May to September, the area fills with water enabling you to enjoy a mokoro ride. Daily game drives with excellent local guides cover a larger area while you search for the big game. This area has an abundance of bird life & lots of elephants!
Enjoy 2 nights free of charge here during green & shoulder season, offer subject to lodge T&C's & can be withdrawn without notice.

Day 2-3
Explore the Okavango Delta
Explore the Okavango Delta
Mokolwane Camp is set in a riverine forest of fig, jackalberry, ilala palm and wild mangosteens. Elephants love it here, with a buffet of palm nuts, berries, and wild figs to feast on as they drip off these tree giants. Set on the Matsebi river system you’ll find yourself amongst the shade, enjoying spectacular views which turn emerald as the floodwaters roll in. This is an exciting area to visit with herds of elephants and regular predator sightings. Bird life is exceptional here.
Explore on game drives and for a few months a year, on a Mokoro(canoe) ride.
Each of the safari tents is raised on a platform, with comfortable furnishings and ensuite bathrooms with running hot and cold water. Each tent has beautiful views over the floodplain.
The main areas have wifi and the communal dining area enjoys the same spectacular views. There is a comfy lounge and bar area and a swimming pool to cool off during summer.

Mbamba's canvas tents are styled in a vintage safari design with Persian rugs, mahogany furnishings and four-poster beds. Each slightly raised tent features a spacious en-suite bathroom, over-bed cooling and a private veranda shaded by leadwood trees with views over the Delta.
