Amboseli is the home to great herds of elephants and with the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. It is a favorite spot for photographers. Also to be found in the Amboseli are herds of wildebeest, buffaloes, gazelles, and many other wildlife. Amboseli National Park stands out mainly for its elephant terrain and of course, for the presence of Kilimanjaro in the background. Although many more animals will be seen, as in all parks, what is most striking is the high presence of elephants. All the African Big Five (lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, and buffalo) are easily seen here among other wild animals such as cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, hyrax, dik-diks, lesser kudu, mongoose, nocturnal porcupines and many more. You will return to the camp for breakfast and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure before setting out for an afternoon game drive. To bring more texture to your experience at the Mara, you may optionally visit the local Maasai people in their nearby village at an extra cost.
