Pick up from Kigali International Airport and drop off at Chez Lando Hotel Kigali for overnight stay. Spend the evening relaxing at the hotel. If you choose to see the Kigali nightlife, we will provide you with transportation and a guide. Otherwise, you may choose to just kill off the jetlag this evening.

Kigali >> Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After your breakfast, check out of the hotel for a city tour of Kigali. Among the main sites you will visit is the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, where you will clap your eyes on the photographic sequence of events before, during and after the 1994 genocide. Time permitting, you will also visit a local crafts center before heading out to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda (approximately 4-hour drive). Dinner and overnight stay in Bwindi.

Gorilla Trekking

The day you have been waiting for is finally here! Enjoy an early breakfast. Grab your packed lunch, prepared with an African touch, and head to the trek's starting point. Upon arrival, you will be briefed on the do’s and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Head out to the impenetrable forest and have fun. The whole adventure can last 2 – 6 hours depending on the pace with which the gorillas are moving from one part of the forest to another in search of food. Once you have found the gorilla family, you have one hour to be in their company.
Return to your lodge to freshen up, or head straight to a Batwa (pygmies) village for a cultural experience at an extra cost. Here, you will be treated to the past and present traditional ways of life of the pygmies that once occupied the now protected Bwindi forest. (Batwa trail option: $50 per person).
