Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

Start your safari from Zanzibar with an early morning pick-up from your lodge, arranged by Tanzania Offroad Trips. You will transfer to the ferry terminal and cross the Indian Ocean by morning ferry to Dar es Salaam, arriving at around 7:00 a.m.
At Dar es Salaam Port, meet your professional safari guide and begin the budget road transfer from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park, traveling via Morogoro town.
Arrival at Mikumi National Park is expected at around 2:00 p.m., followed by your first game drive in Mikumi National Park. This afternoon safari offers excellent wildlife viewing in open savannahs, with chances to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, antelope, and lions—making Mikumi one of the best budget safari parks in Tanzania.

Maasai Village Visit and Sailing Back to Zanzibar

After an early breakfast at Camp Atupele Lodge, enjoy a cultural visit to a Maasai Boma near Mikumi National Park, where you will meet the famous Maasai nomads of Tanzania and learn about their traditional pastoralist lifestyle. The experience includes Maasai singing and dancing, cultural storytelling by a village elder, and insights into authentic Maasai culture in Tanzania, making it a perfect addition to a budget safari from Zanzibar.
