Day 2
Masai Mara National Reserve Game Drive
Masai Mara National Reserve Game Drive
After breakfast, you'll proceed on a full day of unlimited game drives and viewing. The Masai Mara is home to wildebeest, zebras, impalas, elephants, Masai giraffes, and several species of gazelle. The reserve is the best park for game in Kenya as it has an extensive road and track network, which allows for close-range viewing and photography.
This vast concentration of game accounts for high predator numbers, including cheetahs, leopards, and a higher lion density.
You will go in search of the Big Five as you drive down to the Mara River, site of the Great Migration, when in season —July through October. The immense herds of wildebeest and zebra are a magnificent sight, matched only by the drama of the predators who lie in wait for them. At the river, you’ll see hippos but also camouflaged in their natural habitat. You'll spot the many crocodiles awaiting the wildlife traversing the river. This is a spectacle that has played out for millennia.
