Transfer to Materuni Waterfalls
Your safari starts in Arusha, where your guide will pick you up. After a brief introduction, you will proceed to Kilimanjaro where we will visit one of the largest waterfalls in the area. We will also do a short village tour and a coffee tour.
From Materuni village, you will walk about 45 minutes to the waterfalls. The walk is extremely interesting as you will see some smaller waterfalls and many waterways. These are part of the irrigation system of the local farmers who grow coffee, bananas, and many other fruits and vegetables. You can even refresh at the waterfall in the cool and crystal-clear water.

Game Drive in Arusha National Park
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and proceed to Arusha National Park for a game drive and a picnic lunch. After the game drive, our guide will drive you to your accommodation at Summit Safari lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Arusha National Park in Tanzania is mostly known for its black-and-white colobus monkeys. You will also spot animals like buffalo, waterbuck, giraffe, gazelle, and many others, as well as many birds, including flamingos. This park is located at the base of Mount Meru.

Tarangire National Park
After an early breakfast, we depart to Tarangire National Park. The park is named after the Tarangire River, which runs through it. This "river of warthogs" is the only water source for wildlife in the region during the Dry season. In places, the vegetation is quite dense, including elephant grass and acacia woodlands. The park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffe, bushbuck, and hartebeest. Predators, including lions and leopards, closely follow these animals.
More breeding bird species are found in Tarangire National Park than anywhere else on the planet. Home to Tanzania's largest population of elephants, Tarangire is the best place to see these gentle giants in their natural habitat – from the adorable calves to the intimidating bulls. After a packed lunch, we head for our accommodation for dinner and overnight at Eileen's Tree Inn or similar.

Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, we depart to the Ngorongoro Crater. When you first see the crater, it looks like a forgotten world. You'll be able to spot the endangered black rhino and large prides of lions. The crater was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself 2 to 3 million years ago. It is famous for its geological delights and being a natural reserve home to some of the densest large mammal populations on the African continent.
The drive down into the crater is an adventure in itself. When you reach the crater floor, you quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. The crater provides the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be spotted in the open grass.

Lake Eyasi
In the southwestern corner of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is the beautiful Lake Eyasi, a soda lake that is fed by the Sibiti and Baray Rivers. Visiting Lake Eyasi is a different type of safari experience from those that you may be familiar with from your other Tanzania wilderness excursions within the African mecca. The region around Eyasi is the home of the Hadzabe and Datoga communities who continue their ancient lifestyle of hunting-gathering and pastoralism respectively.
Visits to the villages give you a personal, intimate look into the daily life of these people. You may be invited into their homes, learn about the family structures, participate in traditional dances and bead making with the women, join the traditional small game hunting and gathering by the Hadzabe men, make bows and arrows, and much more.

Lake Manyara National Park - Return to Arusha
An early breakfast will be served at the lodge, after which we will make a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Manyara, a relatively small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha, is named for the shallow salt lake that occupies a good 70 percent of the park's land. Flooding and drying seasonally, this soda lake is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species.
On our exploration of the park, we will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, elephants, and, with some luck, lions lounging in trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes, including open grassy plains, primate-filled woodlands, and baobab-dotted cliffs.
We return to Arusha after a packed lunch, and our adventure has come to an inevitable close. We arrive in time for your flight back home or a flight to Zanzibar.
